Hello. I would like to talk about promos and collabs, especially local ones.
At first glance, there’s nothing wrong with each Forza Horizon or Motorsport game having different promos that allow us to obtain new/additional content for the game.
However, in most cases, if the promotion is only available in a specific country or region, many players may not be able to obtain the item or vehicle participating in the promotion.
So, on the one hand, the developers tell us how great it is to play and eventually collect the entire car collection, and then they make a promo where they lock a car that can only be obtained by players in the country/region where the promo is taking place.
I believe that this should not be the case, and it is absolutely logical and correct to ensure that every player who owns a game can easily obtain or purchase any additional content within the game.
I’m not saying we should abandon the promos, but we should definitely provide an alternative way for all players to access the content that’s locked in the promo.
And the most adequate way is to officially sell the promo content through the Xbox store, Steam store and Playstation store. I will explain why it is important: players who are not in the region where the promo takes place cannot officially get the promo content, hence they start looking for places, people and any other opportunities in order to get an digital promo code.
In the end, this leads to profiteering and, most unfortunately, deception.
In the case of speculation, it’s not that bad. The player just buys a promo code on eBay for twice the price, and everything is fine, although overpaying is always unpleasant.
But in the second case, the player finds an offer, for example, on the same eBay, where they are promised a promo code, but in the end they simply lose their money, because scammers have always been around.
I’m not blaming anyone, but in essence, such promos lead to several very unpleasant and negative things:
- many players will not be able to collect the full collection of cars and other items in the game, as they are only available through the promos.
- speculation, where a player has to pay significantly more for a promo code because they don’t have the physical ability to get it through the promo action
- a scam where a player believes that someone is willing to help them get a promo code, but in the end, the player ends up with no money or code
It’s very frustrating, even now, when Forza Horizon 6 hasn’t even been released, and we already have the Trolli promo. If you’re not from a certain country, so you can forget about ever collecting a complete car collection. Alternatively, you can take a risk and try to obtain promo content through speculators, but always remember that you could be scammed.
It’s time to put an end to this, and the developers should seriously consider officially selling promotional content through the Xbox store, Steam store, and Playstation store, thereby putting an end to speculation and deception. Don’t force your Forza fans around the world to suffer.
Even now, there are no obstacles to the FH5 Promo Car Pack appearing in the Xbox store, Steam store, and Playstation store, which will contain 3 cars:
2017 FORD GT ‘OPI EDITION’
1932 FORD DE LUXE FIVE-WINDOW COUPE FORZA EDITION
2009 PAGANI ZONDA CINQUE ROADSTER ‘OREO EDITION’
I was able to get these cars because I have a friend who lives in the US and helped me with this.
I spent $20 to get a 2017 FORD GT ‘OPI EDITION’, then a few more bucks to get the 2009 PAGANI ZONDA CINQUE ROADSTER ‘OREO EDITION’ and I spent about $80 on the Controller to get a 1932 FORD DE LUXE FIVE-WINDOW COUPE FORZA EDITION.
But it doesn’t matter, I’m genuinely concerned about the community and the players who still haven’t been able to obtain these cars and have given up hope of collecting the full collection of vehicles available in the game.
I’m asking you to make an official car pack for these guys with these cars and sell it through the Xbox Store, Steam Store, and PlayStation Store, set the price to $10, and everyone will be happy.
Yes, I paid more than $100 for these 3 cars, but that doesn’t mean everyone else should do the same, especially now that all these promos are no longer available. I’ll be happy if my Forza brothers & sisters can get this for just $10.
I don’t know what else to say, because you already understand the main idea, and now it’s up to the developers to implement it.
Don’t make our lives difficult with these promos, but if you can’t do without them, at least make official sales of promotional content for those who can’t access it through the promo. Sell it officially through the Xbox store, Steam store, and Playstation store, and stop torturing us. Many of us have been loyal to you since the very first part of Motorsport (2005) and the very first part of Horizon (2012), so don’t treat us like this, where we struggle to collect all the items in the game and especially the cars, end up getting frustrated, wasting our nerves, and literally suffering when you announce another promotion, especially if it’s a local promotion.
I really hope that you understand, and I wish you all the best, good luck, and take care of yourselves ![]()
