Progress Lost

Hi,

Yesterday my Father attempted to play this and encountered an issue with the game not syncing on load. I stepped in, being somewhat tech savvy, tried cold rebooting twice and got no where with it. Since Forza 5 is the only game encountering cloud save issues, I opted next for a clean install (and holy bells, that was the longest install process I’ve ever encountered). No dice after the clean install, so off to cold reboot land again. This time, amazingly, the game finally syncs. All good and well, except that now all of his progress is gone. And as you can imagine, for someone who has played since day one of the game’s launch and just about every day there after, that is quite a considerable loss.

So, what is the modus operandi here? Is there one?

Sadly, I don’t think there is anything that can be done.

Similar thing happened to me over last few days. Wouldn’t sync to cloud. I was calling xbox support for 3 days. Hard reset multiple times reload game. Attempt to sync. No dice. Then I tried to sync to the earlier save on cloud when given option again and it sync to 71%. Then had error. Tried again. 82%. This time. Finally after 5 attempts to sync … Total of over150 Meg’s of cloud data from day one. It hit 100 %. Games seemed back to normal after that earlier this morning. Now whether it works later today when i get home may be another story. I have my fingers crossed!! That is a lot to lose.

Did you load the latest cloud game or did they give you option for older file. If you loaded the latest and he has played it since it may have overwritten the older file from what I understand.

I understand your pain friend. I lost my game and ALOT of work about 3 weeks ago. I’d been playing non-stop since Christmas and had quite a few cars I was quite proud of. I had some unique gifted cars like the holiday livery veloster. I also had alot of badges and a fair amount of the cars. I now have I think 20 cars or so. I tried talking to xbox live tech support on their site and they were the least helpful tech support I’d recieved. after talking to 3 of them one of them told me they’d “escalate” my case and I’d recieve a call within the day, 3 days later I went back to their support chat and the woman I spoke to told me my case hadn’t been “completely escalated”. she offered no insight as to what that meant. when I explained the issue to her, she linked me to a page on the xbox help forums about cleaning my disk, which I found thoroughly insulting considering I’d just explained to her that I’d emptied all of my cache’s and the alternate mac address. She then gave me a phone number to call to get my issue fixed, when I called the number a gent by the name of “lee” in florida answered who was thoroughly confused as to what forza is and what I was talking about. I’ve just decided it’s not worth my time and I’ll start back over.

The Very same Happened to Me tried for 2 weeks solid along with Support chat to sort problem i was lvl 1049 Vip member lost all cars awards etc .Contacted Turn 10 no reply or help from them have now started fresh and to be honest dont feel i have the Passion for the Game that i had it now seems a chore .
