Problems Using Clutch [98%-99%]

Hello all,

I recently picked up a Logitech G920 racing wheel and have convinced myself to use the manual w clutch & no assists.

One problem I have encountered is having to put my smash the clutch through the floor for it to 100% register, once the clutch pedal has been pushed to the ground the game believes it to be only at 98%-99%, it has to be pushed even harder for it too be 100% registered. I have tinkered with the inside + outside deadzones of the clutch and that appears to fix the issue, however the setting appears to reset when the next race begins, meaning that the struggle of using the clutch begins again.

The clutch problem is not fatal but it sometimes results in transmission damage if I do not quite press down hard enough.

I have tested out the wheel + pedal set with Forza Horizon 2 and I only seem to need to place the clutch pedal to the ground and it works fine.

Has anybody else had this issue, any solutions?

Thank-you,
mikke121

Not sure about g920 but have u tried calibrating the pedals. It’s required with the tx? Push down each pedal to the floor before starting game,

Hey, you’re not the only one having manual + clutch issues. This is what I posted…

Is this your situation also?

By the way, where are you getting the 98%, 99% and 100% clutch engagement numbers? I’d like to see if mine is engaging 100%. Thanks.

If you hold down on the D-Pad you can see more detailed information related to your car and controller inputs.

Ahhhh, got it. I thought you were looking at some other screen - not the in game one.

Anyway - it looks like you and I are having the same issue.

I checked my connections and tried it again. It worked… then started making the noise again (96-98% clutch).

I then adjusted the following in advanced control settings:

Accel: 10/90
Deccel: 10/75
Clutch: 10/85

These settings worked great. 100% acceleration worked when the pedal touched the floor without excess force. The brake with slight extra force worked to 100% and the clutch hit 100% just shy of the floor (I set it that way to ensure I wouldn’t be getting the 96% at the floor).

Problem is that those settings only kept for 2 races. Although the settings had the correct numbers it was obvious the settings had reverted (accel, deccel and clutch)!?

The other issue is that the default clutch deadzone settings do work on occasion - which makes me think that the deadzone setting one the aren’t the issue.

I’m going to plug the pedal into my Surface and run the Logitech software to see if it’s registering correctly (not sure that any adjustments here would affect XBone play, I think it only affects PC).

I uninstalled the game, hard reset the XBone and started installing it before I left for work.

When I get home from work tonight I’ll continue troubleshooting this and see if I can come up with a fix.

On an unrelated subject - why does every post I make require moderator approval???

Well - it looks like those of us having this issue are going to have deal with it until T10 or Logitech (whatever side is causing the issue) fixes it.

I checked wiring, adjusted deadzones and reinstalled the game and none of it permanently fixes the problem.

Here is the only fix that works for me: After every race, go to your deadzone settings and make an adjustment to the clutch. Mine is set to 10/90. I move the 90 to 89, the back to 90 and press A. I then return to a the race. This has worked every time so far.

I didn’t have this problem when I didn’t have a shifter and was using the paddles + clutch. I’m going to disconnect the shifter today after work and use the paddles + clutch and see if I can reproduce the problem. If I can’t - maybe the shifter is causing the problem?

Same issue here for what it’s worth. I find that even with the clutch fully engaged, just going from a gear to neutral (not releasing the clutch) will cause the grinding noise. No actual damage seems to be happening however, so it seems to just be the grinding noise that is playing when it shouldn’t?

I believe it is a bug with the game, the dead-zones appear to return to the default settings after every race. I guess I will have to put up with it until it is fixed or adjust the settings after every race.
