Problem trying to setup my xbox 360 wireless racing wheel on PC

Hello,

I have an Xbox 360 wireless racing wheel connected to my windows 10 PC by the Microsoft dongle. I confirmed the wheel is working with windows in the devices & printers menu. Going into properties I am able to fully calibrate my wheel, IE every button is working. However when I boot up Forza 7 and try to set up keybindings for a custom wheel the only buttons that are recognized as inputs are the start and back buttons, and the d-pad. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I had a similar problem trying to get my 360 wheel to work with other games. Detected in windows, not detected in games.

I am not 100% sure (and I doubt it as this was deprecated in 1995) but I wonder if the 360 wheels use DirectInput for input rather than the newer XInput. If that is the case it explains why it does not show up in modern games but works fine in windows itself.

i was really disappointed when i had the same problem, it is a Microsoft product and it should work with this game ive used it in many games on my PC its a great wheel still after 8 years of owning it. ive tried everything i can possibly think of to get it to work i managed to get everything bound once somehow but when i hit any button the car would make a hard left and accelerate, same problem with all 3 Forza titles on PC ive spent many many hours trying to make it work on Forza 6 Apex, Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 with nothing to show for it but wasted time and aggravation, please fix it its still an xbox product! PC doesn’t care that its from an older generation console

Unfortunately they do not support that wheel for Forza on the PC. I have one too. There was a maybe when Apex came out but that was a while ago and nothing since.

The following project may help with getting the Xbox 360 Wireless Speed Wheel working with the various Forza games:

It’s still sitting in my closet gathering dust lol.
