Don’t get me wrong, i love career progression in racing games. In a logic sense. Not in a random way.
I wanna earn thoses cars. Save for them. Learn to master them. Because this is a racing game. I don’t want to grind like in a Korean mmo …
There are limits not to be crossed. Random unlock of core content in a non rpg pay to play game. This line has been definetely crossed.
We’re going in circles.
The question you need to be able to answer before complaining is whether ANY cars are exclusive to prize crates. So far people have uncovered cars that are available elsewhere in the game but I’ve yet to hear of any car that can only be unlocked in a crate.
I’m not saying there won’t be one or two but until this is known to be fact people are complaining about nothing.
Yes i did, in this post : https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm789016_Prize-Crates.aspx#post_789016
1] Core content that is locked behind gambling :
Look at thread (https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst99201_FM7-Car-List.aspx).
In this thread, look carefully the number of cars that have a triangle at the end of the line.
ALL thoses cars are either locked behind a paywall (DLC) or a gambling system.
If the car is not from a dlc, then, YOU CANNOT BUY THOSES CARS WITH CREDITS IN GAME ANYMORE.

Here is the statement in a pay to play game, aka a game you already paid for content.
- Unlock a car because of career progression : Ok (And BTW adding possibility to buy it with ingame money)
- Adding a new car to my garage by spending ingame money, and being able to buy as many of the same car i want (because i wanna use different hardware on it) : Mandatory in a Forza.
- Unlock a car because some weird “Specialty manufacturer” will EVENTUALLY propose me to buy a car someday AND for a limited time : Not Ok (that is a freaking free to play feature)
- Unlock a car because of a random loot from crate : Not ok (that is a freaking free to play feature, time consuming, relying on luck and not skill, encouraging microtransactions)
Again, remember we paid for content already. We don’t deserve to grind or consume an excessive amount of time and luck to unlock content.
EDIT : Having cars gifted in crates is another thing. But crates being the only way to unlock them ? It’s a no no baby
No, you need to read carefully.
An explanation of the symbol from a few lines further down.
▼ = special access cars (Prize Crates, Showcases, Forza Driver’s Cup, Specialty Dealer, Forzathon)
What he said was that these cars cannot be purchased from the garage - in other words, you need to do something else to be able to buy them.
This is getting tiresome.
Also tiresome…not being able to just purchase the car that’s in the game when you have enough credits to do so😳. I know it’s an outdated concept that’s been in place entirely to long, but it wasn’t broken soooo.
It sounds like the crates are not going to hold cars back from us, at least many believe that, that’s great news, and should be promoted about the world. However all those symbols on all those cars, how many even, must mean there is A LOT of DLC and giveaway cars coming. What may further enrage customers, releasing cars as DLC that we’ve already raced against in the game, ala 2013 Dodge Dart GT, or 2009 Jeep SRT. I can’t buy either of them, they’re not in the car collecting tab, and not for sale in the specialty dealer. However they are participating in races against the A.I. currently🤦♂️ How dare anyone want to just buy some of the cars they are racing against! I’m all for some exclusive cars being hard to obtain, but a Dodge Dart, wth were they thinking😖

Some of the triangle cars come from the Specialty Dealer. Does that fall under your gambling umbrella?

I don’t have the game in the english version so i came with my own word. If Specialty Dealer is the right way of saying it. My bad. But this is what i meant.
Currently not digging them either. Sucks that vehicles are locked behind them with only a random chance of getting the car u want. Very frustrating, and not rewarding after dropping 1mill and getting “rare award” badges that mean absolutely nothing to anyone…
I have opened and kept track of 75 Lucky Car Crates since launch.
I made note of the quantity of items received, the percent of getting that item, and the cars I received.

What he said was that these cars cannot be purchased from the garage - in other words, you need to do something else to be able to buy them.
It doesn’t give the ability to buy. It gives you, one exemplary of the said car. That’s all (Remember the Ford Crown Victoria ?)
- Unlock/buy a car because some weird “Specialty manufacturer” will EVENTUALLY propose me to buy a car someday AND for a limited time : Not Ok (that is a freaking free to play feature)
- Unlock/buy a car because of a random loot from crate : Not ok (that is a freaking free to play feature, time consuming, relying on luck and not skill, encouraging microtransactions)
Thoses mecanics still exists in a game we bought, and appliyed to CORE content, not only cosmetics. Even though they are free to play mecanics, involving having to play at the right time
This does not fit a non rpg buy to play game. Especially a racing one.
In Forza we always have been able to buy our cars, and buy as many of them we want.
This new Forza, does restrict buying cars, moreover, limit some cars to have only one per account. Where is our freedom to customize cars for our private lobbies with friends ?
Sometimes you have to recognize that explaining isn’t making it any better.

I am sorry, english is not my native language.
what does that really means please ?
Sorry, dog had to go out for a pee so a few other posts popped up before I finished.
This was in reply to #100
It seems that you’re being obtuse.
Crates are unveiling cars that can be acquired by other means. There is no evidence yet that any car is exclusive to crates. Even if they are it’s simply a case of buying crates later in the game when you’ve millions of credits and nothing left to buy.
The speciality dealer rotates 3 or 4 cars for a lengthy period giving everyone ample opportunity to buy the cars if they wish (with CR). This dealer is no different to the normal garage other than the stock rotates.
Forzathons haven’t even started yet.
The game is only a week old. In another few weeks we’ll all be ankle deep in cars.
Micro transactions aren’t available and yet some people are already heading towards 700 cars.
You’re looking for a scandal where there isn’t one and the reasons for being so affronted are wearing thin.
Finally, as was discussed, promoted and advertised prior to launch, collecting cars is a much larger element of this game than in the past. The difference with 7 over older titles is that you WILL be able to get every car, unlike the Unicorns of the past. It’s a simple concept, as you work your way through the game you’ll build your collection. Quite why this is such an issue I’ll never know.
I am note Obtuse, i don’t want free to play grinding and time consuming mecanics to poison my bought game experience. Because i want my game to be worth the money i paid for.
The fact that i can’t buy the car i want, when i have ingame credits, WHENEVER i want is a freaking free to play mecanics.
The fact that the stock rotate, yes, is an issue, because it’s not like they are “special version” with different livery of the same car we can bought in the regular dealership. It’s EXCLUSIVE.
Can you prove that they are not any cars locked under any of thoses mecanics ? If yes, i would love to be wrong. Because if i can unlock cars only using career progression, that’s a gem. But nothing explains what REALLY unlock the car. We got this weird popup info listing all mecanincs that “maybe could” unlock them.
What the car list post prove though, is that they did told that thoses special cars ▼ are not buyable. Thoses mecanics will give you ONE exemplary. This is counter productive in a Forza game.
Don’t forget what mecanics made people love Forza. Hability to have a large choice of cars. Being able to customize at will. Being able to have multiple time the same car. Being able to buy cars whenever they want (as long as they have in game credits).
This game does not have that for all cars, which is what everyone expected when it comes to buy Forza.
Forgive me, I can’t reply because I have my head in a gas oven.

Forgive me, I can’t reply because I have my head in a gas oven.
I went for the freezer😂
Whilst I quite like the prize crates I can’t recommend buying the lucky car crate. The one which costs 300,000 credits and says the chance of getting a legendary car. I’ve bought three of them now and not one of them has given me anything legendary. Heck, the three cars I have gotten from them have only been Rare. No legendary anything else either. Waste of credits.
The other thing I’ve noticed is that this specific crate also seems to be tied to online. Last night I tried to open one and it said unable to open please try again later. I now think they’re untrustworthy which is a pain because that one that seems to be tied to something online is the only one that offers the ‘chance’ of a legendary car.
Which actually brings me to a question. Are we actually able to obtain these locked legendary cars by just playing the like it says by playing the drivers cup? As opposed to the chance of winning one through the online tied prize crates, forzathon, or specialty dealer?
My luck isn’t good enough to even consider using them, so I’m not even acknowledging them in game.
Somebody wrote on here that they’ve opened loads of them, they gave a rundown of what they’d got and it really wasn’t great tbh.
No the cost to reward ratio is much lower than any casino in the world…
