As the title says, pressing A on my controller and clicking the ‘Press A to Start’ button do nothing, except show the loading wheel in the bottom right of the game for a split second. I am signed into a Microsoft account on the PC, the same one I am signed into on this forum.
It did for me too.
I looked in the services and the Xbox live stuff was disabled. Re-enabling them allows Xbox live App to run and log you in to the game
Run> type: Services.msc > Scrol down to Xboxlive Auth Manger/Live Game Save & Xbox Live networking and make sure they arent disabled. Or Run> Type msconfig >Services tab >Scroll to xbox stuff and re enable.

I enabled this 3 services, still doesnt work.
Just a window opening and closing after pressing enter on the starting screen “Press A Button”…Nothing happening after…any advice?
Did you try restarting after words? Worked for me.
Had the same issue and this fixed the issue!
however,
it connected to xbox live, now an error message is showing after pressing enter or A : Loading Failed. An unknown error occurred
I gave up and just uninstalled this.
I have similar issue.

After I enabled the three xbox related windows services, the game is now running fine.

How did you do that? I can enable the “XblAuthManager” but when I enable the other two it gives me the error:
"Can not complete the operation
Unable to start the service because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."

You need to install (or reinstall) the Games For Windows Live
