Prefab Prop Budget Calculations

They seem wrong. This needs to be the same as something you build by hand. For some reason the prop budget goes up really quickly when using Prefabs. Can you fix this please. And anyone reading this please vote on it!

Is this actually a thing? If I build the same structures by hand rather than pre fabs I’ve built to speed up a project it will max the build budget faster?

They might have fixed it. I just have to look into it again. I’m building something new at the moment, where I’m going to do a quick test again. Because it’d be useful to know.

Sadly, I can confirm they have not fixed it. I tested it myself yesterday and prefabs absolutely eat away at your total percentage compared to just placing everything by hand. Now what you CAN do is set everything up the way you want it, but instead of turning it into a prefab, just use the selection tool to select all the props and copy it. Then, deselect the original or base pieces then select all the copied pieced and place them as you would a prefab. Rinse and repeat. Because doing it this way will only count as copy paste.

Hi @HannahSlide . Here’s a tip to manage your budget:
Use one prop multiple times instead of using unique props.
Prefab props are made with the default props. The reason that the prefabs use lots of your budget is because they are made with lots of unique props.
Note: Some of the prefabs are budget friendly. You need to download multiple prefabs and test them and see how they can effect your budget.
