So, I’m still trying to see any benefit to T10 hosting multiplayer via the cloud. Just a short review of the forums here shows that there are a myriad of connection issues that were largely unheard of with FM3 and FM4. They speak of the power of the cloud, but, in reality, there is no substance to it whatsoever.
Tonight, just past the midpoint of an endurance race that I was hosting, I got bumped from the multiplayer lobby and party. I was automatically reconnected to the party, but now can’t connect to the multiplayer lobby to officiate. It shows me in a pre-race lobby with all of the other racers in the hopper hub, but that’s as far as it goes. I’ve done a soft & hard reset to no avail. As a consumer, I can only recommend that you start releasing games that are in working order. I truly believe that being the only “Sim-Racer” on the xbox consoles for so long allowed your people to get lazy. There are too many titles coming out that have and will continue to surpass Forza in features, playability, and realism for you to continue resting on your laurels (I’d mention content as well, but with out Microsoft as a sugar daddy, smaller studios are limited as to what licenses they can obtain). The lack of communication from the developers or any studio representatives, poor multiplayer support, and haphazard porting over of faulty models further exemplify your lack of commitment to providing a quality title to the community. If you can’t put together a game that’s at least 90% finished every two years, perhaps you should stop trying to do so. In all honesty, I firmly believe (and the feedback, when analyzed, would seem to support this) the introduction of the Horizon franchise has been detrimental to the development of the Motorsport franchise.
All is not lost. I’ll close with some advice I’ve been giving employees for going on 20 years now, “If you feel that you can be proud of the job you have been doing, every morning I want for you to stand in front of the mirror, look yourself in the eye, and practice saying ‘Do you want fries with that?’ as that calling could better suit you.”
