With the release of the Momo 935 I headed out to compare both cars.
With the same build at R900 they have the same power, the same tire width, the same lateral g, the same aero values and basically the same weight (3kg difference).
But for whatever reason the Momo has ~40 km/h more top speed.
Results in a pace advantage of over 7 seconds around the Nordschleife.
I assumed it for quite some time that the drag coefficient isn’t considered in the PI calculation and this gives me even more reason to do so.
And the 924 GTS LM is absolutely atrocious. It has worse handling on race tires than the road variant on sports. I don’t know who programmed the cars for the Porsche update but with so many trash cars, please don’t anymore.
agreed, i just tuned it for like 2 hours and i have it now pretty good, did abc’s at bathurst and it hauls (2:05.9 on softs). I ended up putting my brake bias to 55%.
I have about 25 km/h more on the MOMO difference BUT the other one has better accel 8.8 as to MOMOs 9.0 in 1/4 mile and MOMO has worse braking by 8ft at 100mph( even thought it’s the one that has the race brakes) and MOMO has worse lateral g’s by 0.01 at 60 and 0.03 at 100. (I have different builds and aero, my weight and pi are closer than yours are.)
Same lateral g at 125/175 max aero. Same braking. Same acceleration (considering the Momo has longer gearing to accommodate for the much higher top speed).
Everything identical but then a 40 km/h top speed advantage at no PI cost.
Interesting results.
Given we are generally on a similar pace I matched your 6:25 in the Porsche 935 around the Nordschleife.
But my Momo runs 6:18 and I’m certainly not 6 seconds faster than you.
Tests on other tracks yield the same result for me. The Momo is significantly faster everywhere.
Was it and counter the ridiculous brake over steer? I didn’t go that far but did put it up to 52, the point in which braking efficiency notably dropped off. Awful car
