Turbo cabriolet. Interesting story behind them.

Despite being a 993 they were powered by a 964 3.6 turbo engine. 14 built on special order

This is not that much more common than a 993 Speedster so I think they can add both. Though to be honest they also add one off cars to the game so its definitely possible for them to add a 993 Speedster.

Both unique too. So kinda hard to pick which one

The turbo cabriolet is a bit of a Frankenstein.

Bit more detail:

built in 1995 for a single customer—Fritz Haberl, the head of MAHAG Porsche in Munich—who made a special request through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch (special wishes) program. This happened at a time when Porsche was not officially offering a 993 Turbo Cabriolet and was in a precarious financial situation.

These are the details that made it a Frankenstein car

  • Body: A narrow-body Carrera Cabriolet chassis.

  • Engine: The single-turbocharged 3.6-liter M64/50 engine from the previous-generation 964 Turbo 3.6.

  • Drivetrain: A rear-wheel-drive setup and a five-speed manual transmission, rather than the more advanced all-wheel-drive system and twin-turbo engine found in the production 993 Turbo coupe.

  • Exterior: The rear arches were widened to Turbo specification, and the rear wing from the 964 Turbo S was added.

Only 3 factory 993 Speedsters exist.

If I remember right, I believe this is the last air-cooled 911, if not the 996. I know the Gunther Werks (Works?) version is in FH5, but I’d like to see the vanilla 911 Turbo/Turbo S get its time to shine in FH6. I’d imagine it would be a solid A/S class car!

996 was the first watercooled one
