Pop up Headlights are useless in cockpitview

I kind of love racing in the night, but I just saw that you can’t really use all cars for it.
Some cars don’t have headlights for obvious reasons, but then there are the cars with pop up headlights.

Just did a race at Spa in the Lotus Esprit V8. The little light that comes out of the headlights gets completely blocked by the headlights itself. From cockpitview there is little difference to no light at all. This has to do with the camera position and more likely with false adjustment of said headlights.
I did the same race with the 1991 M3 and everything is fine. The reflectorsigns get lit up when I approached them, not so in the Lotus…

Another little thing is, on track you would drive with full beam, not only the standard lights…I’d love to show screenshots but that’s sadly not possible atm…

Oh and on another note, when you are very nearly behind a car, the light shuts down somehow instead of brighten up…they should brighten up and only go black when they are basically in that other car.

Edit: just tested some more…either you don’t see much, or they are not there…Ferrari Testarossa: No headlights popped up, same for one of the Fiats

Well I might not been the first one who sees it, but the game is now out for a while…did they not test those things beforehand?

The Lotus Esprit headlight bug was picked up by many of us and reminders pop up now and then, but they do not feel the need to fix it. I’ve given up. It is a beautiful car to drive, but you can only drive it during the day.

I’ve also been after them since Horizon 1 to give us options for high-beams. The beams never looked right in Hor1 - same issue with Hor2… not enough length but just wide. You’re on a freeway, and your car’s headlights are covering nearly all 4 lanes while you barely see 20 feet where you’re cars going.

FM6 has a noticeably better headlight projection model and I believe the only thing that’s holding them from making major improvements is the 60 fps caveat. The locked 60 fps are very important for immersion and realism purposes.

As far as headlight beams are concerned, I think the Esp V8 is the only suspect. Rest look okay. But then again, I haven’t driven every single car in the game, including ones with pop-up lamps.

All right, Imguessed I can’t be the first to notice. But in general, basically every car has a lot more vision from the bonnetview than in cockpit, as it should be the same.
A lot of those problems could be solved just by letting us sit in the car as we want…but I am fighting windmills here…
