There seems to be a lighting bug at VIR while driving at night. Compared to other night driving tracks, it seems the contrast/illumination of the headlight beams on the road is 40-50% less. Use the Bumper/bonnet view to drive and you’ll clearly see the headlights illuminate the road at the correct contrast level on all other tracks.
There is one exception to the above however; at Spa your headlight beams will display varying levels of brightness, depending on which section of the track you’re at. Night driving on all other tracks looks fine. This is not an issue with my TV as I have it calibrated properly for games/movies. I also keep all enhancements off while gaming (including Dynamic Contrast). Please note this is not to be confused with the Lotus Esprit bug where the headlights barely light up 10 feet of the road ahead.
I also would like to bring to your attention (as I did not see it fit to create a separate thread) that a few cars need FOV adjustments, as it’s too high - the steering wheel is partially obstructing the dash readouts. I.e. Diablo SV, Audi Ultra LMS, BMW M1 Pro Car. I remember a few others have the same issue where the cockpit wheels gets in the way and you can’t see all the readouts properly. I will update this thread as I come across them.
Could you please consider making updates in the next CU? That would be duly appreciated.
I’ve noticed how the Forza Vista FOV looks just right when you climb into the cockpit for every respective car.
Just like not being able to see as you’re exiting the pits on some tracks, and some other issues that have apparently been in the game since launch and will never be fixed.
No kidding. A game ought to be properly and thoroughly tested, in every which way it possibly can be…
A dev needs to either do it themselves, or stand there behind a dedicated play-tester and watch closely—either way, experience pit-in and pit-exit cycles, night racing on every track applicable, around every turn, down every straight, in the rain, in the clear, everything. And if something isn’t right, a note gets taken, and corrective action happens soon after, until it is right. And if that takes a little more time, so be it.
You guys make me laugh. Turn 10 has never cared about the small details. Their priority after the game releases is to start pumping out DLC. A couple of months later, the inevitable big bug will kinda sorta be fixed for some or all of the players. Then more DLC consisting of cars that we had in previous games. That’s about it.
