POLL: Has your experience with rammers improved?

I shelved the game since about April-May after getting fed up with the poor multiplayer experience: lack of radar, too much time between hoppers, lack of overall selection, and really inconsistent player etiquette on the grid.

Between struggling to competitively race closely in first person due to lack of proxy awareness, and stressing whether the lobby was going to be a gamble to determine chaos, I just let it sit outside of clearing out SP FOMO.

Picked it up about a month or two ago and have been having a blast. Can count the number of frustrating incidents on one hand between the 30-40ish races I’ve had. Tons of close battles, stuff I never expected to get out of the game.

It seems very hopper-dependent.

Multi-class is routinely, uncharacteristically safe.

TCR has always been the darling example of rough but safe racing with some totally fine bumping and brushing.

GT spec lobbies are almost always clean, especially GT4 for while it lasted.

The mid-engined featured lobbies have been flawless for me, as was the Mustang v Camaro one.

Open class lobbies E-B have been fine.

I’m not trying to deny people having bad experiences, but I’m curious if there are more out there that have seen positive improvements like I have, specifically with overall race etiquette.

In my eyes, the revisions to safety ratings have worked, or have effectively moved the experience in the right direction. The inclusion of auto-ghosting will be another big jump in QoL.

Entirely dependent on class availability. C,A,R was absolutely awful. The rest have been as clean as one can expect from a game.

I think it’s only been getting better.

In open multiplayer, regardless of class, if u have lower grip than oponent, be ready to be dovebombed/pushed of racing line.
But since B and A class are quite balanced, there’s lower risk of getting rammed, on other side, if u don’t use meta (soft abuse) in e-c class, there’s high probability that u will be rammed, same for S-X, if u don’t use grip meta, there’s high probability that u will get rammed on corners, and higher class = higher speeds = higher risk.

Regardless if it’s year ago or now, players still brake too late, divebomb, and lose speed on corner exit… (And get worse lap time in result)

I’m not experiencing any of those issues, so I’m not sure what we’re doing differently.

I typically do a last to first attempt and am not having issues with players battling along the way.

Regardless if I’m finishing P1 or P10, my races usually settle into nice battles with at least one or two others.

I don’t abuse metas.

Are you qualifying?

A lot better than it was but still a problem. I’ve noticed when I’ve been intentionally shoved off track the car responsible has avoided a penalty more often than not… just one nudge at the wrong time can completely end your race. With that said it honestly feels less frequent now and the penalty system will hopefully get better at identifying fault.

That’s more or less what I’m feeling. I’m seeing major lap-one improvements as far as catastrophic T1-T3 incidents go. They still happen, but instead of being 1 in 3 races, it’s like 1 in every 10.

More often that not I have a good, close running race. Compared to months ago, pretty much every race was a mess.

Ramming still happens but not as often and seems to be that the random ramming drivers are mostly gone… ie. the ones that just join the race to get disqualified.

Now… if I make a mistake, brake to late, run someone wide, etc… I still get the retaliation ramming from time to time but even that doesn’t happen nearly as often. Been enjoying the game so much more recently and especially after this last update knock on wood have had zero crashes or disconnects.

Since radar got implemented, I switched to cockpit cam… it’s a whole new game

IMO, this is a major factor for the improvement. And as bad as FRR works, coupled with ghosted lapped traffic means joining a lobby with the intention to grief is a far less fruitful endeavor. I haven’t seen a single person run a heavy sedan with a cop car livery trolling in this game once.

Nope, well usually my races are clean, but last time I was doing suzuka race on a class MR featured race, 2 race tyre guys was fuming cuz I was driving car on streets and no Forza aero, and every time they get close to me on corners they tried to push me off the line.

Often when doing no qualify, in normal class races (usually is start near end), even if I play it safe, there’s always players that don’t see me (we are side by side and I’m on inside), and he just turns into me when I’m slightly ahead and viola I’m doing 360 and get 4 s penalty… (I still keeping inside even on corner exit cuz he was there…)

First turn in GT spec lobbies are still a warzone. Subsequent turns are better

No i still bump into them now and again especially new players it’s very frustrating & it’s against the Xbox’s code of conduct as well but i feel like Xbox enforcement Doesn’t take it seriously Enough

that happens to me as well it should warrant a penalty as well turning into another player around corners

You’re having some spectacularly bad lobbies. What are your ratings?

A 4999, but EU morning times are bad overall.

A safety? I’m 4990+ and don’t have these issues

Well I’m usually A/S (unless I got rammed and get penalty for that) and I’m stuck with 4999 for year… Xd the thing is I don’t ever use meta, and I always use low grip cars, so that’s probably why.

I mean u won’t get rammed if u use grip meta lol.

It’s not like there are rating related lobbies anyway. Not enough players for that.
There are still obvious beginners in Open Class lobbies that are 5+ seconds/lap slower than the pace and have no attention to anything happening on track.
In practice they just brake in the middle of the road, turn into you while you are more than 50% ahead and so on.

And that’s all fine because we all were at this point. I will never be angry about someone who is trying but still lacking experience.

It’s just sad the player pool isn’t there to give them and us separate lobbies. It would be more engaging and fun for them as well as for us.

The players that annoy me are actually decent drivers in good cars that want to win at all cost and will ruin your race if you are in their way.

Did 3 C-class lobbies yesterday and it happened in two.
Rammed off track by a '90 MX-5 on softs on Laguna Seca and a widebody Golf MK2 on Suzuka short.
Both times I was running a sport tires build.

One of them is actually a forum member here, so I won’t share the clip but I would love to see this mentality go.
Good thing we haven’t a ranked mode with displayed rating. It would make this matter worse.
