PLEASE get rid of this mode in multiplayer. I absolutely could not get into the multiplayer in FH4 due to this truly awful concept, which made a mockery of a person’s racing ability. I’d win first or second every race, then wind up in third or fourth place because I didn’t have the ability to careen across the countryside. The whole point of driving from race to race is to enjoy yourself – they explicitly said this in FH2, and it was an absolute delight in FH3. I got platinum status in FH3 specifically because multiplayer was so addictive. Why Playground Games decided to institute Freeroam Rush and then stick by its guns, only removing it for street racing, is beyond me. I really really hope it’s gone in November.
I’m fine with Freeroam rush but only when it’s cross country racing and in cross country type vehicles. I hate having it when it’s dirt racing and it spoils it.
see, this i can agree with. it is definitely a lot more fun when you’re using a vehicle built for cross-country, and it also makes more sense thematically.
Clearly Freeroam Rush is a divisive topic, I personally like them and would be sad to see it go forever. Just make it so you can turn it on/off day one please.
Long time ago SadPandaDragon, FH3 time … nice to see you around mate.
imho, the intro is crystal clear, discover, pinatas, bowling pins (super 7 v2), eliminator , forget about racing, it’s out! no racing → no free roam → problem solved.
Horizon open is supposed to be the replacement for online racing both free and ranked and not a replacement for PVP regardless what is what announced on the official FAQ page. That said, it is indicated moving seamlessly from session to session, session equals race ? session equals championship ?
Unlike players discovering it could think (I did), Free Roam Rush is not a random event. You need to prepare to it the very same way you train for a trail for instance. There are only few of them because the list of different championships is so small. I created my own tracks to train on FRR trying to find the best safe way to get to the rendezvous point as fast as possible. Once defined, it is just some races without checkpoints. As long as there is no FRR with road racing cars, it’s ok.
It sounded good to me that coop races will have the convoy and meet ups as l wager ppl who are interested of that kinda stuff are usually more for the group PvE gameplay as well.
Only thing lve ever disliked about Rush is that everyone beelines through the woods instead of actually kinda cruising together. Setting that for coop might be a smart thing.
I am so tired with the motorsport guys, would I suggest you go to MarioKart … Value added : Zero.
Unlike regular races FRR requires to take the time to analyse and test the best line to do it, in most cases, just following the blue line is DNF guaranteed. This makes FRR a rather non casual gamers feature.
FRR are not bad, these are just a specific kind of race. I found and learned most of good paths/lines to get to the rendezvous point. Now those are just regular trials without checkpoints.
The other aspect being cars used for FRR, removing the FRR from road championships was a relief. FRR has its own rules and requirement, it would be great it gets its own championships
Mixer?! That seemed like a decade ago lol. Its no different than eliminator. Freeroam just has everyone in the same class and in a car they chose, not one that was won from a H2H or discovered in a drop. So many of the cars in eliminator were not meant to be driven off-road and that’s what made that mode frustrating for so many. Low hp cars vs high up trucks! Lots of mismatches.
Well, Horizon is way more diverse: the street racing, rally and cross country tacks have no equivalent in forza motorsport.
Secondly, Ive owned FM7 for over a year, opened multiple support tickets, and to this day the lobbies fail to connect when I try multiplayer.
Thirdly, the physics tuning in Horizon over Motorsport does make for a more fun game. Cars bounce off each other, dont loose all velocity when going off track, and are a bit grippier going around corners.
