Players with DNF win races simply by drifiting in circles...

My friends and I (group of 5) were playing Online Adventure with 2 guys (same clan tag) that did not finish a single race yet stayed in the top 3 because they rode way behind the pack and drifted the whole time. There needs to be some incentive to come in a top 3 FINISH or finish at all because currently the system in place rewards not trying to. DNF and you should lose 50% to 60% of your skill chain/xp.

Yeah, i really don´t get that system.
They should make different modes, one with the current xp system for those who like it, and a classic racing mode where finish position counts.

It was like that in FH2 as well. They made a lot of improvements and fixed a bunch of issues from FH2 to FH3, but this is one that didn’t get fixed. And it is an issue because the thought process behind the scoring doesn’t make any sense. Why even have races in the road trips/adventures if the finishing order means so little? There were times in FH2 that I’d win all 4 races by more than 10 seconds over 2nd place each time and still “lost” in the final standings. Either the bonuses for finishing order should be weighted way heavier, or skilling should only count in the drive to events and not in the events themselves. If they tell us to race, we should all race or pay a cost for not racing.

The system works in that allows slower racers to be able to compete but the weighting seems off, if you win every race with clean racing you should receive more XP than people who come in last place. And DNF players should definitely be penalised more. The thing to realise though is the only benefit of coming first in the lobby is a credit boost at the end. I’d rather just win the race than come first in the lobby.
