I dont have very fast internet so i just tested to change car, so i pick first car that i have garage and it take 15 seconds to be able drive new car and i use xbox one s. But sometimes it take lots longer to deliver that car.
Being as all XBox are alike it must be broadband speed otherwise it wouldn’t take 1 to 2 minutes to swap cars. It says do you want the car delivered, then you get all that scenery with the cottage, and the lake, it takes ages. Just opening the cars they are all white squares which take awhile to load.
All XBoxes aren’t alike, as I said in my post… the OG Xbox is the slowest, the S is very slightly faster, the X is a lot faster and a gaming PC is significantly faster still.
My internet is 16 down, 3 up and changing cars takes seconds, not minutes. Ergo it obviously isn’t anything to do with people in the UK (where I am) having slow internet speeds.
(My internet being significantly below average for the UK. But still clearly not presenting any problems with this game.)
I´ve seen players change their cars - no problem. I drive an Alfa Giulia which handles well and it´s excellent at farming skill points. It´s not fast, so it would make sense to change for a faster car, but I´ll stick to it. On the other hand there were players pausing for several minutes at the drifting parts, some others beeping with their car horns while parking near the track. This is bad behaviour and I think once I was so angry I reported a player for inactivity. I don´t think you should give extra points to the “best” player. I like the idea of all players working together for a common goal and as long as everbody takes part it´s OK to get the same prize.
I just did forzathon live for the first time in some time. Even though it’s a Sunday evening, only me and one other person joined. I ended up sitting the last few mins out because we got stuck on that stupid danger sign on top of a hill which doesn’t register more than 3 feet most of the time when you jump through it. I hope the other player understood why I didn’t carry on participating; it’s because it was pointless (literally in this case).
If you are talking about the jump under the windmill on top of the hill I noticed it doesn’t work well if you have a soft suspension. The wheels will rebound and hit the ground just past the jump. I had this issue with the Unimog in an event. When I used the Agera RS, I had no problems.
Most people will participate but a few (lower levelled) players just either sit at the meeting point until round 3 or drive to each round, do a quick thing and then go into the pause menu. I think quick chat needs a phrase that says “do something!” to get people to help. I’ve been in a 12 player round and only 2 others did something. I feel like yelling at the TV sometimes.
I don’t think it would be that hard to kick someone for not trying. Check their score update, check their car position, check their checkpoint update speed. Just kick them.
relax man. It happens. whenever I’m at a forzathon I bust out at least 1/2 of all points at each event… at the same time. I’ve started forzathons and had to walk away. not everybody can devote 15 minutes completely uninterrupted to a game. If there is a group of people doing it I honk at them or say “what the matter scared?”
if they are actually freeloading you can just leave the event and nobody will get points.
I’ve done a lot of these and only noticed this a handful of times. I don’t think the point requirement scales based on number of players, as occasionally I’ll be in a forzathon live with only 5 other players, if there is a drift zone, we will be using all of the time. However, if it’s 12 players, and no one “sits out”, I have to hurry to even bank anything in the first 2 rounds. I agree people not participating sucks, but if you have a full roster, the requirements are low enough that it doesn’t really matter.
In find it varies based on the time of day, however, it does happen, however I’ve rarely missed the three events because of it. Usually the miss is because there aren’t enough players or there is a tough drift zone and not enough skilled drifters. In one event I was racking up 3 star drifts and beat my personal best but because the others who were trying couldn’t drift we only got 2/3 rounds finished.
When I first played it I thought it was the one who scored the most got the highest percentage, then 2nd, and 3rd. That would be a much better game anyway.
Its the game itself. I dont know whether each time you come out of a race or lobby it has to load up all the car selections BUT going into a session, if the pictures of the cars dont show and you hit A to select that car. You’ll likely be disconnected. Sometimes I have to let the timer run all the way down to 1 before the photos will show.
For those who are curious, here’s how the current system functions:
Go to Forzathon Live, wait for it to start
When it starts, do 1 thing to contribute to the first round (ex. Do the drift zone once, drive through the speed zo e once, etc)
Sit there AFK until all 3 rounds are over
and you will gain all 60 Forzathon points (as if you contributed to all 3 rounds) for barely even contributing to just the first round of the Forzathon live.
As time goes by, I am seeing more and more players sit there AFK. In lobbies without many players, this leads to not being able to complete all 3 rounds.
This bothers me too. I’m happy to earn 50%+ of the total drift points when it’s just me and 1-3 other players, and that happens sometimes. However…
I wish people would either make an effort to contribute or don’t join the start of the FTL event if you aren’t prepared to commit to it. If you start, then leave, anyone who joins the event after you will have to contend with higher score targets. If you play until I think the 12-minute-remaining mark, that’s when entry closes. If noone has joined by then, feel free to quit and do something else.
Check the total players in the lobby before the event starts. If it’s less than 20, and you see less then 2 other players waiting in the start zone, consider finding a new session if you want those points. FTL starts every hour on the hour.
