Pit stops voiding "on track race" mods??

Why are my “stay on track” mods going red on pit stops. Can someone fix this problem?

Pitlane is not part of the track.

It is in real motor racing

I haven’t had a problem with that. If I plan on using a Stay on Track mod for a race that I know I’ll have to make a pit stop I usually test it out in the Test Drive. Some tracks like the ovals at Indianapolis, Daytona, Homestead can be tricky on pit in and exit.

I noticed when my car was moving to the exit when it wasn’t in my control that it hit a wall but I think that this should be fixed. We should be able to fuel without any penalty. When your out of fuel in a long race, you have to pit. If it happens again I would pause and turn off fuel and tires in the assists but then again I’m loosing credits.

its definately an oversight i encountered this issue literally weeks ago like within the first week of the game being live. There was like 1 person who tried to suggest that entering the pits was some sort of race violation but the majority in the thread agreed that either the card was worded badly or that, logically, entering the pits should be a regular part of racing because no car has a bottomless tank and expecting a race to go for any amount of time with no refuelling is totally bogus

remove this concept of pitting being a race violation or rewrite the mod card stating explicitly that pitting is not permitted - so that the user knows to just turn off sim anything and essentially afk the race

It does seem to vary from track to track as well - pretty sure I stopped at Mugello with no problem, but was flagged up for leaving the track at Prague.

Always happens on Daytona Tri-Oval. The Mods get red when leaving the pits. What helped me:
After the pit stop rewind a couple of times till the entry of your pit stop. You can’t rewind further.
Wait AGAIN for the pit animations to end.
Suddenly the Mods stey clean when reentering the race.

Super anoying, yes.

Don’t pit when you do you are off track. Use that mod on a track/race where you don’t have to pit.

I have noticed, on daytona tri oval at least.

If I do a pit stop it will void the “on track race” mod. Must be a bug? Try yourself if you want, I tested 3 times… bit annoying when I was 17 laps into the race (twice).

Make sure you don’t use it with simulation damage or do any pit stops!

well technically if you’re in the pits, you’re no longer on the race track (game’s logic, not mine) so it voids the mod, as you left the racing area. It has done this since launch, and a few people have commented. Either turn pit stops off, or don’t use that mod card with fuel/tyre wear on. It is a known issue though, and they may get around to fixing it at some point, once they’ve got the rest of the game working properly…

I am pretty sure that it works correctly on some tracks though, I recall doing a rewind after taking a shortcut entering the pits, dirtying the lap/mod and then reentering properly and not coming out the other side with the mod/lap messed up voiding the mod.

If it is intention, what they mad a mod that basically you can’t use with some other mods or do simulation damage of any sort with it. Still not done properly though if the game doesn’t tell you first.

It’s broken, like many other things in this game. It’s fine on some tracks, and on others it voids the mod. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was at least consistent, but it can’t even manage that…

Bathurst, Road Atlanta and Prague are some of the other tracks that will dirty your lap and mods sometimes. It is very inconsistent, depending on which car ot even tune you use. Rewinding and braking when exiting the pits works sometimes for me.

In bernese alps i had a dirty lap just by rolling in the middle of the road, touching nothing, in a good racing line. The ! Appeared out of nowhere. I noticed this since the last update

If I do a race on homestead or Dayton, why are pretty much an the laps dirty and never get up dirtied?

I’ve never had a problem with the “stay on track for race” mod while pitting during a race. I know Daytona has a weird pit exit but if I use a mod like that I’ll test drive before the race with a practice pit stop. I know you have to exit the pits correctly and not just dart out onto the track like I’ve seen so many times on multiplayer.

Trying out the pit stop in test drive is a good idea and worth it for any extra long race. Also gives you a chance to see if you’re at about the level of AI you want for the given track/tune/assist combo you select.

I’ve done this post-race a couple times too, at Sonoma and I think Suzuka West, to try and figure out the right pit entry to keep it clean for next time I hit that track.

You get to keep any un-triggered mods, I think that’s different from FM6. Takes the sting out of it, eventually.

Apologies if this is a double post. I raced on Daytona oval (grinding for credits). All 3 mods set to stay on track. 30 laps in I’m trying to pit. It seems to be impossible to enter the pit lane without the game thinking your off the track. Am i doing something wrong? I tried many approaches and speeds. Same outcome every time.

Some people disagree, but the pits are not on the track, just turn off pit stops to get full use out of those mod cards. If you had the hud displaying the track limits you’ll have crossed those lines while pitting.
