Phew. Thought I'd lost it

So I booted up Horizon 4 after being away a couple days. It had slipped off the home page since I’ve been playing other games. So I had to go into Games and Apps, and hunt it down. Launched the game, and it started playing the intro again.

I thought; oh, no. My save file got corrupted. I’ve lost all my progress.

Closed the game and relaunched, same thing. Goes right to the intro.

You hear about this happening to others, but you never think it’s going to happen to you. Some games, sure, it’s annoying, and you’ve lost a few hours, but you start a new game, and move on with life. But a game like this has rolling progression over months and sometimes years. And it could be a long time before some of the exclusive items come around again. If I lost my save, I’d have a hard decision to make whether to start over, or if it’s worth it to even bother. Trivial, maybe, but still, it would be a rough turn of events.

Ran upstairs and, started browsing the tech support forum to see if there was a fix, and that’s when I noticed a couple of threads about the demo crashing.

Then it occurs to me; the demo doesn’t save progress. You have to start from the beginning every time. Did I launch the demo by mistake?

Back downstairs, and sure enough, the tile on the home page was the demo. Found the actual game, launched it, and everything was fine.

Anyway. True story. Deleted the demo, so that’s not going to happen again.

That’s how I got reminded to uninstall the demo, too!
