PCARS2 sound Vs Forza 7 sound

I’m not sure if quality support and improvements have come to an end for the game but I’d like to bring this to the team’s attention:

Just played PCARS2 and I have to say the sound samples are downright brilliant. While not as ‘clean sounding’ and high quality as Forza, they certainly get the individual pitch, tone and character of each car’s motor and exhaust right.

Off-throttle sounds in particular are excellent, as are downshifts and use of LFE to get that deep bass and rumble. The cars sound loud and powerful without causing ear fatigue.

Now, I wonder why Forza can’t make the cars sound proper loud and powerful? The pitch is far too high and the cars just don’t feel powerful. The sounds are so generic across so many cars. You really should hear the P1, LaF, 918, Zonda R or just about any car, really, in the game to get an idea of how well the mixing is done (granted, the quality could be better).

Does Forza need yet more powerful hardware to show off car sounds properly? I believe not, because FM6 and 5 did an outstanding job with the car sound. I think it wasn’t until FH3 that car sounds issues started to pop up and the trend continued to move forward with both new games since then.

thoughts anyone? T10 team? I love this game, but how can a dev team with half the budget nail the car sounds so beautifully? It irks me a little as a customer, that’s all.

here comes the hoard of comments on how previous Forza’s sounded better anyways. Rumor has out they lost one of their sound guys to GT, which I guess would explain why GT’s sounds are far better this generation and Forza’s sounds like a toilet bowl flushing.

Ah yes, I Googled that recently. Is that the same guy who worked on FM4? The sounds in that game are beyond excellent.

I’ve played GT Sport and feel they have done an outstanding job of nailing each car’s character.

You hit the nail on the head sir! They have each cars unique character down. Each car behaves differently, sounds differently, and feels unique. It’s a quality over quantity approach that I appreciate very much. I hope they can do this with FM8. FH4 and FM7 car sounds are embarrassing, 0 bass or lfe related to the cars motor or exhaust sounds. Ruins the immersion for me, sound is such a large part of the connection a driver/player have to the car. Hopefully T10 realizes that even mobile racing games have better sound and addresses for the next version.

FM7 has a massive car list, which is probably the main reason why the general quality of cars is lower than some other games.

Well with all this time they pledged that they have, may as well start correcting this sound issue. Its annoying as heck and takes away from the realistic feel if the game. It will be a bummer if come this time next year no effort was put into fixing car sounds.

For sure, improving car sounds would benefit every future game in the series.

What a nice place to move the thread too, it can die a slow lonely death here, nice an quite like🤦‍♂️. Why would it even belong in the FM7 discussion😂

I know right.

This is feedback about Motorsport 7 specifically and yet they still just sweep peoples feedback into the forum basement, how is that listening to the community.

They recently moved one of my threads that i put alot of work into and was generating lots of good feedback. now its dead too.

It really pisses me off actually… i just brought Project Cars 2 Deluxe Edition so maybe this is the “straw that breaks the camels back”.

Your back should be broken😳. Mine was broken on launch day of FM7, refunded $100 game for the first time in my life inside the first 30 days. One of the worst AAA launches in video game history.

While PC2 sound isn’t bad, it’s also not that good. Raceroom and Assetto Corsa Competizione sounds are by far the best ones.

FM7 should not even be mentioned when discussing sound, it’s disgusting lol. It’s pretty clear they won’t change it either so whatever, really.
