PC vs CONSOLE

Hello Turn 10, quick question, will it be possible in the future in the rankings and in the upcoming official competitions to differentiate between PC and console players… because we notice (not just me of course) that PC players can use certain software/hardware that gives certain advantages that we don’t have on consoles. Have you already studied the question internally at Turn10? Thank you, sincerely, Etienne.

What software are you talking about and what advantages?

The aim-bot of racing games apparently… Drive-bot, lap-bot, physics-bot…

:face_with_tongue:

It would be nice to see some evidence or at least name what we PC players are doing to “cHeAt EvErYtImE wE aRe In MuLtIpLaYeR!” That way someone like me, can tell my program search to look for those specific hacks so I can eliminate them. I detest cheaters and would never bring myself to cheat at multi-player games. I am also sure a great majority of active FM23 players on PC aren’t trying to get their GPass access blocked, or end up getting banned off of a game we paid for.

And as far as I know, there are no Straw-hat Luffy ways of playing FM23 on PC. I could be wrong, but nothing crossed my radar.

But still, lets see what programs and cheats we are using?

From what I understand, monitor refresh rate :joy:

OP never said a single word about cheating. Maybe he’s referring to 3rd party apps for tuning and/or telemetry overlays?

You guys can seriously be insufferable to anyone with opposing viewpoints. Bunch of internet bullies.

Oof… Guilty as charged.

If the console players who swear we are cheating, knew what really was happening with high refresh rate monitors and FM23, they’d point and laugh, instead of crying foul.

And yet who are the ones constantly trying to laud accusations of cheating, to throw us off the island?

Pretty sure OP wasnt referring to every single PC player.

Whatever your reasoning, it’s not relevant to the OPs topic. I’m quite certain he’s referring to overlays and he never insisted on their removal but rather an icon displaying whether users are on PC or console and may have a slight advantage in a competitive environment - like he stated.

There are a ton of games that offer this, little icon of a mouse vs a gamepad for example.

Nevertheless it’s no reason to attack the OP in hopes of getting likes and laughs to bolster a position above him in some sort of strange superiority complex.

I really hope the mods will address this bully mentality on the forums.

Perhaps the OP should clarify what they mean.

But name calling definitely doesn’t help this discussion.

The only “advantages” you’ll find when comparing PC to console are framerate exploits and Simhub overlays

Framerate exploits might snag 72-120fps in online play (and maybe uncapped rivals?) for people with 144hz+ monitors, which adds a negligible amount of performance enhancement due to the way the physics work, though I could see how that would drive someone crazy who’s chasing top 5 on leaderboards

Simhub overlays are not an advantage, just a QoL thing. Seeing granular suspension and tire info without having to pull the telemetry up, and seeing persistent splits/deltas aren’t any kind of advantage

Is the framerate really an exploit or is it just having your FPS set above what the consoles are running? Tbh I didn’t even know this was a thing.

Should be the same basic effect that this test from Hoki did on FH5

I forget how PC users achieve this but I think it has something to do with the game halving your monitor’s refresh rate? Like 144 gets you 72, 160 gets 80, etc., assuming your rig can handle it

Something that overrides the 60fps mp cap

I don’t know. I just lock mine at 60 without v-sync (because v-sync input lag always sucks) and get 60 in fmp, even thought it’s not smooth, like it hovers around 59.9-60.2

From my understanding their is a theory that setting up your car a certain way and running at 60 fps results in an increase of grip

That’s interesting. Yea I keep mine locked at 60 as well, I don’t notice it that much while I’m actually racing, maybe sometimes with trees off in a distance you can see it’s not smooth like at 144 would be.

Bump above 8-9
Rebound 13/13
Soft springs
Max RCO
Max anti squat
Anti dive at least +50

Need to lock frames

RCO ?

I’m talking about the DS4 Windows Mar software, for example, which allows you to play with a PS4 controller, which also provides certain advantages in acceleration and braking on Forza Motorsport. By installing a trigger lock, for example, with a precise braking percentage so the wheels never lock… which of course gives you an advantage because the braking is perfect every time. So I’m talking about ADVANTAGES compared to the others, which doesn’t put everyone on an equal footing. PS: DS4 Windows is also widely used on Warzone, for example, one wonders why…

If people can grip/power hack in every other racing game on pc, why would fm23 be any different?

Have you people seriously not seen the occasional rivals leader that is 15 seconds faster then second place and is obviously using cheat software?

Like it or not online pc gaming is a disaster.(and it’s only getting worse.) Genuinely hope the next xbox is locked down tight as opposed to a pc running xbox software and that every game has the option to disable crossplay with PC.
