They are of course. I have many other games that runs excellent so this must be something on their ends… badly optimizations or something it’s unplayable atleast
freezing hard and goes from 80-90 fps down to 2 fps can’t do anything
As i already wrote in another post i only got into the game once. (it’s crashing right after pressing enter). Weren’t able to unlock the Framerate. Target were set to 60. Played the porsche/dubai track, performance felt horrible. MSI afterburner/Rivatuner stated a solid 60fps but it felt more like 15-30 and it froze for 15sec midrace once.
Windows version: Windows 10.0.15063.608
Ram: 32gb DDR4-3000
Cpu: i7 7700k
GPU: 1080 ti
game installed on a ssd
I have a similar problem. GPU usage is only at around 50% at 1440p with everything maxed out (100% resolution scale). Benchmark shows a solid 60fps, but in game feels like it’s running at a much lower frame rate. Not smooth at all. I however, did not have any large freezes mid race. Forza Horizon 3 on the other hand runs flawless.
Windows 10 Version 1703, build 15063.608.
Memory: 32gb DDR4-3000
CPU: i7-6700k
CPU GTX 1080 (drivers 385.41)
Game installed on a 3 TB HDD
I noticed CPU cores 1 and 3 were pinned at 100% the whole time. The other cores weren’t doing much at all.
Good im not the only one… my game is installed on a hdd though. But all my other games including forza horizon 3 runs fine from that hdd and since you use a ssd that can’t have anything to do with it…
I have creators update cuz it made me download it.
If you haven’t already, can you please reboot your computer since you did a recent update of Windows. Can you also let me know what Monitor model/resolution and also the video resolution setting you have set in game?
tried with MSI Afterburned closed same thing. I closed all programs pretty much and it still lags like [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] and freezes can’t even navigate in the menus due to heavy lag…
It’s been weeks since I updated windows and I did try a restart without any changes.
I have an Acer Predator XB271HU 165 hz monitor. And running the game in 1440p I tried other resolutions aswell with same experince laggy [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]
I tried different settings first I was having them on Dynamic and then I changed them all to high but still the same amount of lag even in menus.
I also set ingame to 60 fps (no clue why I can’t go higher??)
Forza horizon 3 runs perfectly fine for me, but it’s not the case with this game! I’m sad :c
Alright, I figured it out on my system. I have the same monitor as you and this is how I got it to work in fullscreen. Did these steps in order, (1) Changed “Perfomance Target” to 60 fps, (2) Changed “Resolution” to Native Window Resolution, (3) Changed “Fullscreen” to On.
I can run the game fine on a similar setup, but i do experience random frame rate drops… This happens to me for both my 1080ti and 980. Its rather strange as most of these stutters happen in the menus. For me it only crashed 2 times, once right after install why i was setting up graphics afterwards i restarted the pc and ran without issues. ANd once during a race on dubai when suddenly the ground turned invisible and shortly after the game crashed. Its rather weird as i can`t find any logs for this game.
Absolutely horrible freezing of even my secondary screen. Only mouse cursor and sound don’t freeze. Freezes for roughly three seconds returns to normal for less than half a second and then continues to freeze for another three seconds and so on.
Runs fine in windowed mode.
I can confirm that Performance Target cannot be left at Dynamic which I foolishly did since 60FPS is rather low and I thought Dynamic to be unlocked. Every setting other than Dynamic works perfectly fine on my end.
Can you please send me a direct message so I can further look into this for you? Thanks.
For everyone else, please make sure all your drivers are updated, you’re not running MSI Afterburn and you’ve rebooted your computer after the install. If you’re still having performance issues, please send me a direct message so I can further investigate.
I get no any issues and I get pure smooth motion at 2560x1440@8xMSAA with all max settings (not “dynamic”) except motion blur OFF running i7-4790K@4.7, 16GB DDR3-2400 and single GTX 980 Ti@385.41WHQL.
I get the lag you are talking about. I also have an Acer 1440p monitor running at 165Hz. The only way I can get the game to run without lag in 1440p is to hit the restore button at the top right of the application in between the X button and minimize button. This makes the game window smaller and have black bars on the side but at least it runs 1440p. If I then go into settings and force Full Screen at 1440P, I get the lag you are talking about and the game is unplayable. I get about two frames a minute.
