Seeing as I am very excited for Forza Horizon 3 thanks to its large map, extra customization and more, I began to wonder if all those huge features will be included on the Windows 10 version of said game. If so, I may or may not consider getting it for that platform with a controller plugged in.
The game should be identical on both platforms as the digital download is Xbox Anywhere and playable on both platforms with no additional cost. If you get the physical copy (Base or Ultimate) you will only be able to play on Xbox, which makes sense from a technical standpoint.
On the Xbox Store it says "Features may vary between Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of game. "
I may be a little trusting on this but I would hazard the guess that they would be features related to graphics/sound type settings which may have more flexibility in the PC side. Gameplay should stay true as you can go back and forth between the platforms and your information will synch. I would be surprised if things like cars, tracks, settings, paints and so on are different between the platforms.
I’m taking this in the same way that Scorpio will have “features that may vary from original Xbox”, mainly 4K.
I agree with Dirk. The game will sync cross platform so there cannot be any major changes in the gameplay. So yea I would guess the major changes would be in the menus, controls and graphics settings, etc. I will be ordering the digital copy so I can play on both my PCs and my Xbox one.
Oh another difference is online play will probably be free on PC whereas the Xbox will require a gold membership.
I really want this game on my PC since my XBOX one will be over 100 miles from me by the time this game comes out. Nevertheless I am hesitant to pre order the ultimate edition since seeing disclaimers such as "Features may vary between Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of game. " on the xbox.com website. So if I preorder the game through my xbox, will I still get the 3 day early digital download, the extra car packs, and VIP?
That disclaimer mainly speaks to inherent graphical feature differences and options available between the PC and console (such as resolution and graphic fidelity settings, etc.), depending on your PC hardware - the game’s features & content is the same across the two. If you buy FH3 Ultimate Edition, you will have early access, VIP, car pass, and the Motorsport All Stars pack on both PC and Xbox One.
I agree with Dirk and JONK, that the ‘features’ comment refers to graphical and other features relevant to the hardware it’s being run on, not the gameplay part.
Think about it, if there were different features within the actual game or gameplay, like map locations, barriers, race types etc, then crossplay wouldn’t work. For it to work they have to be the same game.
Just for the record …
JONK is ‘Turn 10 Staff’.
It’s safe to say that JONK is right
I figured that but thanks anyway. That part of my post could have worded better. I was just trying to put it in a way to make the OP think about their question in regards to crossplay. Once you add that in then they have to be the same game.
