PC Performance Degrading Aprox. 10 Minutes After Starting FH5

Bug Info: After starting FH5 and playing for about 10 minutes, the performance goes from 120 FPS to around 40-80 FPS. GPU utilization drops as well. GPU memory utilization stays the same. Turning off my xbox controller (or maybe even disconnecting a USB device, haven’t tested) will restore the performance to 120 FPS. The cycle will then start over. Here is a Youtube Short of the issue.

Platform: (Steam, Windows PC)
Edition: (Premium)
Account: (solo account)
PC GPU: (AMD 7900XTX, latest drivers. Tried with and without adreneline)
Peripheral: (Xbox Series Controller)
Settings: (Near max graphics. Lowering graphics or enabling FSR does not affect frame rate when problem occurs)
Xbox Settings: (N/A)
Attempted fixes: (Turning off my xbox controller fully restores the performance but drops off in the same amount of time. Restarting the game restores the performance until it begins to drop off.)
Content Update: Just started playing within the past week or so.

I have this as well except it happens every time I either go to the garage or visit event lab island or either of the DLCs, the performance halves for me going from 100fps down to 50fps, the vram usage stays the same but after a while the actual gpu usage skyrockets.

The issues seem slightly similar. I’m having the performance degredation in Rally Adventure and the base game in Mexico. I haven’t tested it in the Hot Wheels DLC. The loss in FPS is gradual; it’s not running at 120 FPS and then instantly drops to 50 or 60 FPS; it takes about 5 minutes to get from 120 FPS to say 50 FPS. When I turn off the contoller, the jump back to 120 FPS is nearly instant. GPU utilization falls off with the drop in performance after about 10 minutes of gameplay.

So it appears I’ve found a resolution to this issue. Updating bluetooth drivers seems to have fixed it. I’ve played a few sessions at minimum 30 minutes each with no degredation in performance.

It’s a weird issue and seems to have been related to bluetooth all along. The issue would be fixed if I plugged the Xbox Series contoller into the PC with a USB C cable. The issue also didn’t persist if I used a third party 8bitDo Ultimate 2C wireless controller with a dongle. I never tested the 8BitDo controller in bluetooth mode but that would have been interesting to see if it created the same issue.

The Intel bluetooth drivers I had installed weren’t that old; they were from June or July 2024 if I remember correctly. The divers I installed were from Oct 2024 and were directly from the Intel site rather than my motherboard’s (MSI Pro Z790-A Wifi) manufacturer’s site.
