PC - MS Store: Error Code 0x0 when Launching Game (3910076)

Working here, mine was originally installed on D:\WindowsApps and has never been on C: drive

Windows 11 22621.2283 (latest build, updated before the game update). Latest Nvidia driver, installed before the update.

AMD CPU

Hmm… perhaps that’s why I didn’t have the issue either.

FH5 is installed in my D:\WindsowsApps folder and works fine

Hi
Attemps to launch FH5 yesterday and today: fail with error message 0x0

Game installed 03/11/2021 on HDD E:
Had a look today on folder E: \ XboxGames and found only 2 sub-folders:
-Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 1 – 20/07/2022
-Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 – 29/03/2023
…???..where is the game ??

Then went to Xbox App / FH5 / manage / General
I’ve enabled advanced management features.
Got only 1 possility for location → E:\ XboxGames…
I’ve validated with „move“ button.
It took near than 40 min.
Then launched successfully the game (2 times)

Now checking on folder E: \ XboxGames I can find 3 sub-folders:
-Forza Horizon 5 - 14/09/2023
-Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 1 - 20/07/2022
-Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 - 29/03/2023

This worked for me. Great thanks. :+1:

If that was question for me → it is not an option for me. My C (system, SSD) drive is 120GB large and currently 30GB of free space left.

Hi
No. Also working when installed on another disc (HDD E: from my side)

so 2 extra info
a) I was unable to change name of “widnowsapps” folder, there is a message that “folder is in use”
b) was doing somethign in xbox app and it redirected me to “gaming services repair tool” - https://support.xbox.com/en-SG/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/gaming-services-repair-tool
after using that tool my game still doesn’t start, but that 0x0 error doesn’t show up either. It just closes the launcher after few seconds.

EDIT: is there a way to do " integrity check" like on Steam?
EDIT2: ok, after quick google search it should be in xbox app → library → manage → files, but for me there is only “check for updates”

Select the D:\XboxGames folder then move it via the xbox app from the windowsapps to other

If the folder doesnt exist create one… there must also exist some hidden file called .GamingRoot

for the gaming services click startmenu type powershelll right click on it start as admin

put this in “Get-AppxPackage gamingservices -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers” (without the " )

Start XboxApp it shows bla gamingservice missing click install there

Can’t do. I have 30GB left on C drive and 60GB left on D. Unless I do some quick cleaning.

Ok after way too many hours wasting on this crap it is working again.
Moving the game from securelocation to xboxgames folder via xboxapp helps.
Tried via windows->settings->apps and always failed and in xboxapp was no option to move.

If the xbox app shows this game doesnt support advanced bla make sure your pc can reach ms online stuff. If telemetry and stuff is blocked via firewall or hosts or whatever tool it blocks the app from showing this feature… No idea wich address is needed not in the mood to test all the hundreds in my blocklist

Edit: but now it shows on my xbox i’m playing the game on windows… but its closed there.

You tried? It is moving not copy. It was installed to C: here and clicked move to C: but changed to the xboxgames folder in settings before. There is no extra space used here

yeah, it showed me that there is not enough space.
Give me a moment to delete/uninstall something.

edit:
@PinkiePie4997 yeah, still no good despite 125GB free space

“Disc D needs more space to install the game”

Needs 139gb move something quick you can move back then

That is why I said earlier “that I only have 60GB of free space left and can’t do that”.
Freed up some more space, now at 150GB, game is “installing”. Slowly.

Yeah in the end it’s all bs had the … before after fh5 preorder and installing the stuff before full game was released. Now it installed new FM some 12mb in same way (windowsapps) and i’m sure have to fiddle around for hours to get it working then in oct

that is the exact same issue I have my game closes after that tiny splash screen, not to mention my game worked as perfect before the update

Thank you all so much!!
Moving the game from wherever it was on C: to C:\xboxgames via the xbox app solved the problem for me. However Video and Graphics settings were gone.

Absolutely no help and no infos from Microsoft. I was unable to find any trace in Windows Event Viewer :-1:

Add me to the list. The game won’t run on my gaming laptop after the update.
