Works on my 1500 dollar CPU just fine.
I hope they know how to fix this issue…
Well I wont be buying until I know they have fixed the stutter on PC, what an impression to give putting out a demo that doesn’t work.
How old is the demo ?
I had slight stutter a couple of times when I tried the demo with old drivers, but when I updated to the latest Nvidia drivers, the demo ran completely perfect. Apex has always run flawlessly for me and so has Horizon 3 since they were released. I agree there is definitely a problem with these games somewhere, but I’m really curious as to why I have been fairly lucky running these games for the most part.
I7 4790 at 3.6
16 gb ram
Geforce 980 TI
Running a 6700k with a gtx 1080. Playing on a 1080p Screen with 144hz. Imo everything works fine. The game runs completely smooth in the menues and while on every track. Forza 7 requires to have the creators update. There are still people out there, who don’t have this installed! I do not use the gaming mode though.
We know. Already covered.
Not anyone having problems with stuttering. Because the game won’t work at all without that update.
Demo build has stutter on collision with other cars. Hopefully this is fixed in Release.
Finnally had time to test the demo.
more or less smooth with stutter and Drops under braking and collision - ingame menu is stuttering like i havent seen before. Semms i Need a new pc … will bring it to the garbage after i have finished enjoying pcars 2 on Ultra 2k @~140 FPS stutter free !
Spec below:
I7 7700k @ 5 Ghz
1080ti @ 2.1 Ghz
32 Gb Ram
M2 960 eco 500GB ← where F7 is installed on
there an possible way to still cancel my preorder ?
i have the same specs as you i have not had it stutter once . Weird …
"Forza Motorsport 7 is not limited to running on one core. There seems to have been a miscommunication along the way. Forza Motorsport 7 uses as many cores as are available on whatever system it runs on, whether that is a 4- to 16-core PC or the 7 cores available on Xbox One.”
I’m ready to pre-order the ultimate edition , let this be true …
This is just a blatant and shameful lie.
100% CPU core 0 in the full game as well.
How can a developper lie in such way when all evidence points to the opposite ?
It’s like a child, saying 1+1 = 3 when everything points to 2.
They don’t even aknowledge their mistakes, how are we supposed to trust them and let them correct issues if they don’t admit problems.
Are there really adults developping this game on PC’s ? I’m starting to seriously doubt judging by these kinds of comments.
The demo had my core 0 pinned but the full game doesn’t. I saw all 4 cores on my i5 being used at 80-90%. Gameplay ran very smooth.
Maybe to much OC , test it with Stock Settings, new game new behavior with oc
My 1060 was also clocked to high
I hope someone can test the full game and see if this problem still persists, I mean I’m 99% sure it will but you never know!
I find it somewhat ironic that the PC version is having CPU-related issues when the game runs flawlessly at 1080p 60 FPS on the underpowered Xbox One with its weak Jaguar APU that doesn’t even hit 2 GHz. Forza should run like a dream on a mid to high range PC as those generally have not only much more powerful GPYs but also much faster CPUs. Sure, DirectX has more of an overhead than on console but isn’t that what DirectX 12 was for? And doesn’t Forza Motorsport 7 use DirectX 12? So why is the game running so badly for many people?
On my PC (GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB, i7-4770K @ 4.0 GHz, Windows 10 Pro v1703) the demo seems to have very erratic performance for some reason on maxed out 4K Ultra settings with 8xMSAA. I’ve played it and it has ran at 68-87 fps (for some reason Framerate = 60 FPS (V-Syync) runs up to 87 FPS on my 165 Hz G-SYNC display) and felt perfectly smooth throughout. Then the next time I play it the game suffers from what feels like microstuttering and bad framepacing, dipping frequently below 60 FPS and as low as the high 30s FPS!!! It almost seems random when I load the game up as to whether it will run great… or not.
In comparison, the demo on my Xbox One runs at a flawless 60 FPS every time, albeit it’s 1080p60 and with vastly inferior image quality. The point is that if the PC demo can run perfectly at over 60 FPS on my system then why isn’t it running like this ALL the time? Why am I getting such variable performance on the same hardware with the same graphics drivers on the same tracks? It doesn’t make any sense unless it is all tied in to this weird CPU behaviour?
Surprise, surprise !
The full game does NOT have the ‘‘Threaded Optimization’’ and maxes 1 core. This is beyond unreal, I do not have words…

A few reviewers who received the game early are also reporting the stuttering we experienced in the demo on very powerful hardware (i7 6700 + 1080ti).
This pretty much confirms the retail release is not optimized for multiple cores!
I stated it before, but I will state it again for T10, and MS:
I am going to WAIT on purchasing FM7 until this is patched. It doesn’t matter if I have to wait six months (into 2018) like Forza Horizon 3. At least, I will be (hopefully!) getting a fully optimized game that should run well on modern PC hardware. I have plenty of other games to play and will check back often to see if this issue is resolved in a timely manner.
Works fine for me, no stutter. Except during cutscenes a little bit when its loading a racetrack at the same time in the background (which makes sense technically).
Turn game-mode off in windows settings. that setting gave me stutters. Yeah my first core is at 100% but still no stutter.
Yep … the MS PR guy just basically lied …
Now lets wait again 4-6 month to get the game fixed while Turn 10 has no idea how to make a pc game These days … and Forum has started to fill with complains about crashes and what not …
but yeah. reduce Input lag … i have no words … its just sad
