Hello, I have recently started to play forza motorsports 7 and I wanted to play multiplayer because who doesn’t want to meet new people and ~ahem~ hear their “emotions” per say. Anyways, I actually solved the issue on my own. My issue was I wasn’t able to hear people, even though other people can hear me. I did receive help from both Microsoft and Xbox customer support, but they didn’t have the answers. Luckily, I solved this dilemma on my own and I want to share my solution to those who are playing any Xbox game on PC.
SOLUTION: Hearing other people
- Go to the start menu and access to your Sounds Control Panel.
- Right click on the device, where you want to hear your friends.
- Click Set as default device for speakers.
- Restart your game and eureka!!! YOU’VE GOT SOUND!!
SOLUTION: People hearing you
- Go to the start menu and access to your Sounds Control Panel.
- Right click on the device, where you want to project your voice.
- Click Set as default device for microphone.
- Restart your game and eureka!!! YOU’VE GOT SOUND!!

It’s funny how when I went to an Xbox live agent, they didn’t ask for anything except a review. However for a Microsoft agent they ask for money. Luckily, this agent said I won’t charge you for this issue, but I need to remotely connect your device to analyze any problems." So, if he never said that he has to charge me and look through my personal data in my computer. No offense, but unless you have money Microsoft support expects something for their help apparently. This great Xbox agent was able to tell me that some Microsoft agents will or will not charge you for their services. I find this to be ridiculous. Contact Xbox support, they only ask for a review, no money!
