This game promises the support of the Dualshock 4 controller, but I plugged it in, and no controller prompts show up, game switches to keyboard prompts and the DS4 doesn’t input anything. And when I plug in my Xbox One controller, everything works fine, so what happened to the Dualshock 4 support?
Can you link to where you saw that it said that DS4 is supported?

Dualshock 4 is definitely supported. If you go into the controller options and choose Customer Controller 1 for layout, can you bind inputs to your controller?
DualShock 4 is not fully supported with Forza 7. It certainly isn’t plug and play and when binding controls you cannot bind multi directions on an analog stick meaning “look left” cannot be left on the right analog stick. Controller won’t vibrate either. When I did however bind steering to the left analog stick. It didn’t function properly. The car was refusing to steer correctly when A and D keys on keyboard worked just fine.
Can someone clearly explain how to get this game working with a Dualshock 4? When a game states to support Dualshock 4, I expect the controller to work just as good as the 360 controller in game, and with Dualshock 4 buttom prompts as a bonus. Other games will even turn the lightbar into another colour, showing proper support. If this game only recognizes it as generic input device and requires me to bind it manually, and with analog sticks not being recognized properly, then it does not have Dualshock 4 support.
I heard that you can use the program DS4Windows but only if you “Go into your DS4Windows → Settings → hide DS4Controller” otherwise Forza 7 recognising the DualShock 4 as an input device conflicts with emulating an Xbox controller. I haven’t tried that out just yet though, can’t say if it works or not. Forza Motorsport 7 should have native support for DualShock 4 though after they said it would and at this stage it seems like the controller is merely a recognised input device that is not supported.

Yep this fixed my issue where as the input would not work correctly. I would hit x on my dualshock and the game seemed to be confused as to what device it was receiving input from and therefore it didn’t work correctly.
Would have been nice to have native ds4 support

any luck with DS4? I have the very same issue… Using ds4windows, it is working flawlessly with Forza Horizon 3, but I have the same input issues in forza 7 demo.
I can use the d-pad, but the 4 buttons on the right don’t work at all… Analogs are quite…meh They do something, but definitely not working correctly.
I tried a custom mapping in options, but it’s full of errors… some buttons register, some don’t. And even if I can register let’s say the triangle button, it is still not working in game, while driving.
This problem exists in the demo and still exists in the game today. DS4 is NOT WORKING nor is it supported as claimed by Turn 10.
So is there any way to make DS4 v2 work with this game? I bought it yesterday as a Black Friday deal but I really don’t want to use my 360 controller… When I plug in the DS4, I can’t even navigate the menus with it. I can assign some controls but it doesn’t work properly. I thought it was fully supported? Weirdly enough, the game gives me a “controller disconnected” message when I unplug it.
Is it just the case with v2? I played Horizon 3 with a standard DS4 and it worked all right. Now I have the v2 and the game doesn’t recognise it either. I wonder if it was really so hard to make such a popular controller work out of the box or if they actually didn’t want it to.
Without trigger feedback for throttle and braking that controller will be very difficult to use. That is everything in Forza.
DS4 WAS working perfectly fine for me but it just stopped like a few days ago, and now the keyboard and mouse are really buggy too and barely function with the game, and I have NO IDEA why. Before this everything worked fine but now the game is completely unplayable for me.
