Patch for Shifting Lights

Do you think we maybe get a patch for some wrong shifting lights ?

no. First ive heard of this request so no overwhelming requests. Dont hold your breath.

There’s shift lights in the game? I had no idea lol.

They’d probably be wrong even if they were fixed. The best shift point is thru trial and error and not what the game states.

On the car dashboards? On the HUD? Where are these incorrect lights? Either way, shifting by sound works best for me … in the game and at the helm of a real car.

In onboard view. Like the Corvette C6.R or the Astin Martin DBR9 GT1. Far befor the shifting point is comming the lights beginn to flash up.

Would be awesome if you could SET the shift lights as part of your tune.

have you ever driven a car with a shift light? Those are just a silly indicator of when to shift at road speeds… i wouldnt expect them to be nearly close when you are running out gears and tracking a car… so they are probably realistic. i am guessing t10 talked to the manufacturer and they got the rpm range in which the shift light comes on in each gear.

He probably is talking about cars like the race zr1, aston, and viper. The lights indicate to shift well before I shift. It is odd because the race bmw lights are spot on. Maybe they actually shift that early in those cars in real life?

But what i don´t realy understand is why Turn10 do it right for some cars like the 458 GT2 or the R18 and others wrong like the M3 DTM car.

Yeah most cars are way off. The MX-5 Cup and the BWM DTM are waaaayyy off.

Here is an example how the shifting lights should work in the 2011 C6.R :

Maybe they do the lights correctly for every car but once you tune the car or put on any modifications the lights no longer apply. Since there are hundreds upon hundreds of various parts and tuning combinations the shift lights have not been programmed to change and will always tell you to shift for a stock set up.

This was the case in previous games.

Right, exactly. If you add any power parts or change the gear ratios especially this will mean the lights no longer match the intended point, whether that was right for you before or not. Use the power/torque curve graph shown when choosing engine parts to figure out the best point to shift so you’re not hanging on to a gear while power drops off, or shifting too early resulting in missing peak power in the previous gear and/or being too low on the torque curve in the next gear.
