Wonder if the Painter and Tuner Stats from FH3 will transfer over to FH4? Some, not the “Hacks” have poured hours upon hours into gaining that Painter or Tuner Status.
Players normally start from scratch for each title.
The one benefit to playing previous titles however is that you can import your content and share it on Day 1, while new creators are still working on their cars. That will give you a head start and if you were a Legend in previous titles you’ve probably got enough people following you to seek out your latest content.
I agree with what PJTierney said. Maybe I should have asked this in the MotorworldHype thread but I definitely think that we’ll be able to import our paint jobs from FH3. Not being able to do so would be too much a slap in the face to the true legend paints who put hours and days into their designs.
This next part might be off-topic, but I can also see the scalpers importing their spammy Monster/Rockstar/Matte Black/Red Bull paints and cheesing their way to Legend Painter right from the get-go. As I said in the MotorworldHype thread, at this point, there needs to be a major overhaul on the auction house, the painter status, wherever, to stop the scalpers.
I hope that this doesn’t cause the same problems in the FH3/FM7 auction house, where “legendary” tuners/painters would use their status to flip off rare cars for profit.
if you are good enough, u will earn the legendary status easy after 1 week… just upload the first 3 days enough easy designs for 100+ cars and wait. me and a friend needed 6 days for legendary… i worked harder for it but he has 120.000+ downloads now with race stribes (chrom) on every car xD
sry but we designers need a advantage for our work. its just fair. otherwise they have to remove the credit limit in the auction house and we sell our best cars only there. because there are cars where we put over 50hrs into it. and we got only peanuts for it (for the uses, likes and downloads). i know what im talking about. trust me…
I don’t agree about the current rewards system being inadequate and tuners/painters only getting ‘peanuts’ … as long as you put out quality content that others desire. I have never sold a single car in the auction house and have earned hundreds of millions in credits just from downloads, likes and uses daily rewards. The higher auction house price limits for Legend tuners and painters needs to go away. Give everyone the same limits and let natural supply and demand control the prices in the Auction House.
No, you don’t. At least not the ones who spend all of 5 minutes making a simple livery and spamming the storefront to get legendary status just to try and rip people off in the auction house.
I dont think the developers have understood the problem.
They havent realized people lock out exclusive cars behind legendary painter paywalls creating cartels for specific cars. This has nothing to do with painting even.
For those of you who think the current system is fine because designers need to be rewarded…
Yes, I agree that good painters and tuners should be rewarded. But surely, don’t you agree that people who simply make 5 second matte black paint jobs shouldn’t be placed on the same level as those who spend hours, even days, worth of effort into putting quality designs? Because that’s what the current auction house and legend status system is doing.
And regardless of case, I still think that the auction house system and legend status needs an overhaul.
Whatever system is used, rating, downloads to status etc you tend to know the good designers regardless.
Status to a lot doesn’t matter if you know what you put out is the best it can be. but if people wish to sell overpriced cars why cant they? its the nature of the game for a lot of people.
If people put in the time and effort to produce a quality paint job, then I’ll gladly pay extra for it. The higher buyouts are to reward good painters, and you are theoretically paying for the paint.
The problem is that a lot of these scalpers don’t deserve the perks of a legend painter. Have you seen the typical storefront of a scalper? Most of the time it’s just the same matte black paint or some other low effort livery spammed onto hundreds of cars.
As I’ve said above, don’t you agree that people who make these low effort 5 minute tops paint jobs shouldn’t be placed in the same level as those who spend time producing quality designs? Because that’s what the current system is doing.
They have to do something about removing the advantages for “legendary”painters. The quality of painting in Forza has gone drastically downhill since Forza 4. The “legendary paints” auctions in Horizon 3 are full of either single or dual color paint overs or painters who slap the same couple vinyls on every car model in the game. To make things worse, they just hit import and import it all from the previous games, do zero work and get credited all over again with every new release.
Simple fix… go back to FM4 Auction House rules. Let a Free Market determine which design will sell for 20 million… a 5 min spam job design or a detailed design that took countless hours to create… having the Auction House resemble a Free Market economy will seperate the scrubs from actual Elite & Legendary painters. There’s also many great painters out there that goes unnoticed due to lack of exposure.
Also, tuners & painters get rewarded a heck of a lot more than Top Precentile racers & amazingly talented photographers.
There should still be limits of some sort. The loss of storefront and the promotion of only a few painters and designs as “top picks” or whatever really killed the painting in Forza.
If limits are to be added then, IMHO, they should be equal to everyone regardless of “status.” Skills as a painter or tuner are no more important than skills as a racer or photographer… however, skills as a top racer and/or photographer are not equally rewarded as that of a painter &/or tuner.
I’m still in the opinion of ZERO limits in the AH & making it resemble a “Free Market Economy.” The cars and credits we earn are ours and we should have the freedom to do with them as we see fit…
