The only other racing title that has been released on PC that features a PBR engine (physical based rendering) and the highly enhanced visuals due to it, is the latest Need For Sales. And it has a… GTX 970 in the recommended (which are 1080p 60FPS). Project CARS has released a year too late IMO, as everything is going PBR now (which ups the quality and naturally requirements, but hey progress, yippie) and because of which you can see that the final effect is mainly due to post-processing, not due to natural capabilities of the engine (even though still good). Asseto Corsa looks simply bad (it looks almost like an early PS3 game upscaled to 1080p, aside from cars which are of higher quality), DiRT Rally is running on outdated engine with a lot of cheap tricks behind it (2D grass, pre-baked lighting in the textures and water reflections) and none look anything close to DriveClub or Need For Sales even in terms of graphical quality. Forza Apex should be the first PC racing sim running on a PBR engine.
I imagine that Forza 6 is basically an approximate of low/medium settings of what Forza Apex will offer in terms of graphics. It’s a very good thing that recommended specs are going up. That means the quality is going higher, which in result is harder to optimise. Naturally in some cases the high requirements are just after effect of lack of optimisation, but generally the increase in recommended settings all around is nothing more than information that things are going forward.
I only hope that Turn10 will keep their reputation of well optimised titles even with the whole disaster that UWP is now. My GTX 670 is not going to run at max settings on 1080p, but I approximate that medium/high with 2xMSAA should grant me 60FPS. Hoping that they’ll be able to allow higher refresh rates and fullscreen mode later on, at which point I’ll be able to utilise my overclocked refresh rate of 74Hz (yes, I know, not that huge, but makes a difference for me).
It’s that T10’s FFB implementation is broken and wrong. Go find the FFB thread in the FM6 forum where they recommend you use xyz rotation for certain vehicles. This is implicitly wrong and not how you do FFB.

What T10 should be doing is that ALL wheels are set to 900 (or 1080 for thrustmasters) and then imposing soft locks PER VEHICLE in game.ou should never be changing the rotation on your wheel.
Dirt rally did this initially and got slammed to the point they had to rewrite their FFB entirely to be in line with every other sim on the market that does it properly.
T10 currently does not do FFB properly and if they carry over that same FFB to PC, expect them to get slammed just like Dirt Rally did. The bigger question is will T10 listen and fix it, or just ignore it entirely to their own detriment.
T10 work from controller first, wheel as an after thought.
Project cars worked from wheel first, controller second, as it should being a PC game down ported. (im using Pcars because currently AC isnt on consoles yet, and Dirt Rally has already conceded and rewritten theirs properly.)
IMO, T10 are going to find this quite to be an enlightening experience. PC users have a set level of expectation that has been set for many years, especially in racing sims. You either play ball, or get hammered.
I hate to say but Windows store blows, there’s zero control over were a user can install, delete and modify game directory’s . Also the standard user dose not have permission to access the Windows Store install directories and requires a good bit of time to “fix” that
[Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]
I hope i eat my words but its not going to matter, its just going to be all flash and poor gameplay. The fact that wheel is not going to be supported on release means its once again going to be optomized on pad. Hopefully the reason for the delay in wheel auppott is because they are going to completely rewrite it, but i doubt that. Wheels keep getting beyyer and forza ffb stays the same. I could honestly care less what engine any of them are on as long as there is quality racing and it fees like i expect it to feel. Some developers and players get so caught up on graphics and ignore the play aspect which is what i completely expect of this totle.
DD wheel on any forzas current FFB would be absolutely atrocious, most consumer wheels are approx 5nm or less (CSW V2 is approx 7nm) my modded wheel is still under 10nm and have a look at how violent the default ffb in forza 6 is in this video: forza 6 vs assetto corsa FFB (skip about half way through for forza) now imagine that on a 20nm wheel, I can see broken bones.
As other have said you can change where Windows Store apps get installed by pressing the start button, type “Storage” and change the “New apps will save to” setting to the drive you want. You can also move Windows Store apps/games after installing them by clicking on the drive they are currently on, finding the game/app, clicking on it and clicking move.
