So far this game has had a lot of ups and downs but this past update has trended us in the right direction. the only problem i have so far aren’t even bug or glitch related they are intended game mechanics that are absolutely terrible.
I am tired of losing to a car that is terrible in the corners but mach speed on the straights. the tuning in this game is absolutely absurd. There is no way a ktm bow GT2 or a huracan should be running minimum downforce to gain top speed it’s just ridiculous that minimum downforce in a “motorsport” game is even a thing lol without downforce these cars should be sliding and driving horrendously but no somehow these cars are still putting up record times. This is the main reason the audi R8 was OP at the start
The skill doesn’t even matter anymore it’s all based off unrealistic silly tunes.
i think we should compact the tuning into tires, suspension and dampers, aero and diff and get rid of gear tuning besides final drive.
Lets just face it, if you use that ugly Forza aero you deserve to lose.
In all seriousness tho, if T10 change something players will just find another way to get that edge, just look at the times of the top place Rivals players, obviously they have found an exploit in the tune or the track.
There is no way I’d keep playing the game if the gear tuning was altered in any form.
The only way I can see this being addressed is everything is set by default no tuning allowed like in GT7 sport Mode & changing the cars setup with each new Game Update. Or completely Rework the Race transmission but not to make it op or under powerd in speed or Accel T10 definitely didn’t Take this into consideration yes there will be people leaving feedback & critique the Change we all Don’t Like change me Included but if we want a fair Balanced experience in the Race series in MP this is one way they could do it .
Setups won’t be the same like in GT7 for example like downforce camber suspension Stiffness & anti roll bars every car is setup differently But I understand its a decisive Topic Even if Disagree with anyone I will always Respect other peoples opinions critiques & Expression If it doesn’t look like i do I do Not mean to it as I see the world Differently for a lack of Better Word
I’m not disrespecting anyone.
I’m asking a question.
I’ve seen lots of people say tuning is unfair, and I don’t understand why they feel that way.
Tuning is essential in real-life racing, so why shouldn’t it be allowed in racing games?
using an app or just learning how to use suspension tuning to your advantage will always help you.
springs, rollbars, and shocks are much more important than downforce! how much time do you spend at speed for downforce to be effective? i know how downforce works on all the motorsport/horizon series. its not entirely speed dependent. when it comes to fine tuning corner entry and corner exit you are mainly making changes to the bump, rebound, and diff. you only add aero as the last resort.
To be fair, we all know the “tuning” system in Forza is, and has been for a long time, a bit broken. Same with the PI system. Using aero to drop PI, then reducing it’s effectiveness by dropping the value to just about zero has been a thing even before FM23. Ballast doesn’t function the way it should either. ARB settings having no specific value beyond a number and being able to crank up the settings to max and having the car perform normal, if not better. Massive heavy rims also drop PI but do little to affect the cars handling.
The ability to tune isn’t the problem, the tuning system itself is broken.
Of course, nobody can (rightfully) claim that any game/sim is 100% perfectly realistic.
If the same options are available to everyone, I don’t understand why some think tuning is unfair.
Ask a top tuner / driver.
Some are quite helpful.

Thats mostly sarcasm on my part, I don’t believe in magic. Those top times are 98% skill, 2% everything else, the guys on the top are going to be there regardless of whatever restrictions are placed on parts or tune.
