about a year ago forza 5 would not let me join a match or play online. could not even start a private match. so i just stoped playing the game.
so today i bought forza 6 ultimate edition for $150 and the online will not work. it just sits at the menu that saying starting multiplayer, establishing a quality connection for about a minute and then it says that failed to start multiplayer, multiplayer is currently unavailable. try again later.
i have contacted xbox support and went throught all of there trubelshooting methods and it still does not work. they sent me here as they say its a problem with the game…
forza horizon 2 works as it should aswell its just forza 5 and forza 6.
i am assuming you have live gold so thats not the problem. do a hard restart on your xbox. hold the power button down until it fully shuts down (it should take 5-15 second if i remeber right) then unplug the power cord for 10 seconds plug it back in and restart. it will start up slower than normal because it has to load everything from scratch, but the good thing is the glitch preventing you from getting online is in the saved cache you lost that enables faster start ups. and your xbox will start as fast as normal the next time you restart it.
Can you please describe what you’re doing and the specific error message you’re getting?
I will also send you a PM asking for some network connection stats.
itiwill not let me into the multiplayer hooper. it just says to try again later. i have tryed eveything and nothing seams to work. i have a wired connedtion with the nat type being open and a 20mbps connection. this is realy anoying and all i want to do is play online
Turns out my wrt54g won’t work with it. I tried everything. Nat was open and everything. I factory reset it and opened the ports and it works now. I am ordering a New router because I think the wrt54g is not meant for the world of having. Wrt1900 $140 on newegg
I have a similar issue here too, I know my wifi is running good but forza 6 gets stuck on the starting multiplayer bar and does nothing at all except infinite loading, I can do everything else but anything online related does not work at all.
Wireless? Can you try connecting via Ethernet cable from the Xbox One to the router/modem/gateway, make sure your Xbox One is properly set up for wired, and then try the game again?
Sometimes when trying to use a wireless connection there are other devices - even cell phones - connected, perhaps someone in the family streaming music or a movie, etc., and that really eats up the wireless speed. The wireless pipeline is not unlimited, even if someone has multi-megabyte down/up via the connection. That is only a reading of what goes out and comes in from the Internet Service Provider’s nearest central office to the networking device connected at the wall.
I’m also having this same issue. Wired connection with open NAT. I did a connection test and had a 105 ping with 0 packet loss. The multiplayer connection test from the settings menu also returned no problems.
E: I decided to test if I could start a lobby in Forza 5 and it worked with no hangup. My issue seems to be limited to Forza 6 only.
I had trouble joining multiplayer as well. But I changed my DNS on my Xbox to google (8.8.8.8) (8.8.4.4) and it just worked wonders for me. Hope this helps someone.
Im haveing the same problem i try to join a drifting lobby it goes through the process of finding one bjt in like a second it says on top joining server the slightly below that it says failed to get match server list. Please turn ten fix this i must burn rubber
putting in the Google DNS servers on my wireless ip configuration on the XBOX one resolved the issue, now i can play with my friends, was getting really frustrated.
this is exactly what i did
From the Xbox One home screen, go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual. (If Settings doesn’t appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings.)
From there, enter the Primary DNS as “8.8.8.8” and the Secondary DNS as “8.8.4.4”
