What would you prefer in terms of the upcoming changes coming to online racing?
Filter (coming soon) - Players will be able to select the class and type such as S2 road. Once selected the player will wait in a hidden queue until enough players join.
Lobby - Players can view, join and create their own race based on class and type. Players can see the number of players sitting in a lobby including each players gamer tag.
Main difference being that with a lobby you can see races forming and join which ever one you desire. Whereas with a filter you select class/type then you wait until you’re matched with others.
Vote below whether you would prefer the upcoming filter system or if you would prefer a lobby system.
- Filter (coming)
- Lobby
- Other
- Don’t Care
Please note I have kept this as fair as possible by excluding additional features that would exist in a lobby based system such as the ability to specify each track, number of laps, weather conditions, private/public lobbies, min experience, etc.
I liked the lobbies in older FM games I played because you could also agree things like certain types of cars you can’t filter for, stock cars or types of draintrain etc and built a bit more rapport too. Happy with the filter, though.

Lobby for definite, I’ve championed bringing them in since the last game, games stuck with them for years for a reason.
Think they’re just a bit too straightforward for PG’s liking though, aimlessly bumbling around the map with no in-game info on who you’re coming up against or what they’re driving is much better than the old tried and tested way…

In the end it doesn’t really matter what we want as the Let’s Go! online presentation clearly had it as a filter. You pick your PI class and race type and then wait for a large enough group of racers with the same filter applied. Even if people preferred a lobby approach, you gotta admit that this is better than the current way of joining Horizon Open races.
Just because the online racing filter system is coming doesn’t rule out future improvements in this space.
The purpose of this poll is to get a slight indication to what people would prefer. And at this stage people are leaning towards a lobby system similar to what has been used in the past.
Your question was specifically about the “upcoming changes coming to online racing”. Your poll was poorly worded if you wanted to know what people really wanted beyond the upcoming changes.
Hey FlyingKulau I don’t find this very constructive. Btw you don’t have to add your 2 cents on every single thread that gets created.
You create a poll that is word smithed a certain way. You want people to comment so it doesn’t get lost to more popular threads. Someone makes a comment directly related to you poll and the announced upcoming changes that your poll is specifically about but you don’t like that they actually read the words of your poll and wrote their comments accordingly. If you don’t like when people make comments on your topics, then don’t create the topics or just ignore them. Either way you can be thankful that your poll got a bit of a boost so others can see it.
Again I don’t find this constructive.
