When I try to play online free roam etc it says that it’s installing and is stuck at 100%. I have left it installing for a few hours and nothing changed. I haven’t been able to access the online since I started the game. Xbox one. Can someone troubleshoot this for me? Thanks in advance.

Uninstall the game. DO NOT DELETE YOUR SAVED GAME.
While online reinstall the game and let it finish 100% before doing anything else on the console.
After that redownload any dlc and once again let it finish 100%.
Do not play the game until all this is done 100%.

OP might be 2 weeks old but It just happened to my mate last night. I googled it and was directed to this thread. Thankfully we managed to get it fixed through figuring out the above steps on our own but I had posted in case there was a known quick fix.

I actually had to fix my son’s install.
I deliberately went through all the other steps often mentioned and none worked.
The full game reinstall did work.
I think his problem stemmed from the fact he still had all the default console settings which included a 1 hour turn off (to standby mode).
That seemed to break the FH2 install and the Dead Rising 3. Both had paused part way through which I think was due to auto turn off.
