Old Rivals seasonal event

I just completed the “Old Rivals” seasonal event on FH4. I won every race and had 60 points at the end of the championship. Inexplicably I came in second to a Drivatar which had 64 points. That’s four more points than are available for the 3 race championship. I didn’t receive the Hoonigan RS200. Thoughts?

UPDATE: Tried a second time and lost 60, to 63 points. I’m now checking for duplicate Divertars. No matter how many times I change level, I end up with many Multiple Drivertars.

The most common explanation is a duplicate AI driver was in the championship. He got credit for both finishing second, and say 10th. Double points for the same AI in every race.

I have learned to check the starting grid before the first race, looking for duplicated AI drivatars. If found, just make a change to the AI difficulty, and get a new set of drivatars assigned to your championship. Then change back to your preferred difficulty level or Expert in this case to earn the RS 200, and check the starting grid again. No duplicates, let the racing begin.

There’s a bit of code in the game something like this, it’s the only possible explanation :wink:

if ( EventWon ) {
if ( GamerTag == “ForzaSnip” ) {
TrollPlayer();
} else {
GiveRewardCarToPlayer();
}
}

Next week’s content update will fix “an issue where Drivatars could win a co-op Seasonal Championship, despite scoring fewer points.” which sounds closely related.

You could submit a ticket via the Support link above, or wait and see if the fix works and submit a ticket if not.

I think this one is more fitting “Resolved issue where Drivatar names could be duplicated in events.” as that is probobly what is happend here. (i have see that happening to me once, that was one really hard championship to win)

Stop changing drivatar difficulty all the time
Have it set before entering a championship
This was also an issue in fh3

Check before the first race that you dont have duplicate drivatars in the grid…if you do …restart the championship…

We did have the difficulty set before entering the event. My difficulty never changes from “Unbeatable” and I still had the same results as my friend.

Check for duplicate drivatars before starting a race, why??

What needs to happen is, Turn10 and Playground Games need to hire competent QC/QA team members to stop releasing broken content and updates. This is getting old. wait this is beyond old it is stupid!!!

They’re telling you how to work around a bug that’s causing your problem and your repsonse is “why??”. Really?

This Event is a mess, i just played it with my friend and after choosing one of only two cars we got starting line with Audi R8 Quattro, Hoonigan Fiesta, Ford GT and what i think is Pre-order edition of Chevy Camaro. Frankly i never knew Lancia Delta and Peugeot 205 had so many ancient rival cars.

Edit: On the other hand its kind of interesting to put it in cotext. For example i never knew that Lamborghini built 20 pieces of Lambo Reventon just to rival Lancia Delta.

That is a stupid problem, but I can’t even win the first race in this championship. I’ve played through FH1 twice, FH2 on both X360 and XB1, 100’s of hours in FH3, completed everything in FH4 set to highly skilled drivatars, completed events set to unbeatable…but this event is impossible for me when in the championship. I’ve tried 2 different A class tunes, 2 different S1 class tunes, and tried tuning myself for grip, tuning myself for power. Always there are 2-5 drivatars that just pull away like they have an extra 200 HP. I just tried switching to the “normal event”, i.e. not the seasonal championship, everyone in the Lancia, same everything, 1st place on the first go. I don’t know what it is, but the first race when in the seasonal championship is impossible for me.

I used the stock lancia and did it easily
I only have it set to expert drivatars…no point higher even though it always asks me to up it to pro
Im only an average driver too

So, I just finished this on Average.
Actually won, guess I’ll have to settle for the 15k payout as when I set the difficulty to above average I go from 1st place/ winning, to anywhere from 3rd to 8th/UNWINNABLE.
First 3 attempts at expert in the 1st race in the series had the same Drivatar PIT me in the same place at the same time.
Start the race, get down to the 3rd or 4th turn in 3rd place and this Peugot would come up and spin me out, drop down to 8th or 9th place, restart, same thing.
Reset the Drivatars and this finally stopped.
I guess the challenge here is having to accept that the game is unwinnable with a certain control scheme and that’s just too bad.

Having tried the first race many times, I think the problem is related to what drivatars you have. For me, there was always a lead pack of 2-5 drivatars that pulled away from the field, making progress at the same points in the race, every time. When you play it over and over, you really see the patterns. Anyway, what worked for me was I upgraded the Lancia with the bodykit, which improves everything except top speed. My 2nd attempt with that set up I got “lucky” in that the lead pack was only 2, so I finished 3rd. The other 2 races I finished 1st on my 1st try. This was enough to win the championship by 2 points!

I struggled on the first one too at Pro with a mild upgrade/tune to top of B, they just ran off up the hills wasn’t even close. I think I finished 6th on the first race, then won the 2nd two, was still a little challenging on pro, but doable. I didn’t want to turn it yet again into a mega upgrade event. Ended up first in the championship. Didn’t want to keep racing the first one over and over and tuning all night so just moved on to the other two to see what would happen.
