Thanks!!! Getting better! And yes, it feels great when I crush a drift zone!!! Cheers!

I as a fellow old man found for the drift zones and drift club MANUAL! all assist off, steering NORMAL! And lots of practice, perserverance, patiance and REWIND! You’ll get through it all and I now really enjoy any chance to drift ( automatic for normal gameplay) in the game especially for farming skill points!

Yes, thank you for the tip. I make sure all traction and stability control are off and in manual setting. Haven’t experimented with clutch yet. Getting there. Cheers!

I’m trying this drift thing.
XBox1S. controller not wheel. abs off, tcs off, sms off. steering normal (how is sim steering even a thing!?), manual (not manual+clutch), far chase cam view.

With the drift club cars I can 3 star all the lego and all but 2 of the mainland road tracks. The #88 Mustang with an S2 AWD Drift suspension tune just eats up most of the road based drift zones.

Dirt tracks - I’ve managed to 2 star some of them but about half I can only 1 star. And I have made no progress at all for months: I cannot drift on dirt. The drift club cars are all tuned for drifting on road and become too wild on dirt. I’ve tried DJS’s various “made to drift” tunes on dirt and I can’t get them to sustain a drift, they straighten out too quickly if I feather the throttle, or fly off the track if I don’t, and I can’t make them turn fast enough with the steering set to normal. Simulation steering looks like it might be fast enough, but its random changes in ‘full lock’ render cars undrivable unless driven from an in-cockpit view so you can see what the steering wheel is doing and I prefer the chase cam view.

I even qualified for Online Drift adventure to get some extra practice in, and come a solid last all the time.

Right now, I hate drift with a passion I normally reserve for things I actually hate. I’ve broken the rubber hat right off one of my XBox controllers trying to control my car in drifts and XBox controllers are normally indestructible.

I feel you as they say… A few generations behind most here!!! I must say… it is great fun as my “Rally” car is detailed, covered and garaged a few feet away!!! Of course no more Rallies for me… but “this”!!!

how are you making out in learning how to drift?

I always enjoy helping people tune drift cars and teach to drift. I have 3 starred all drift zones on every section, including DLC’s. I use all of my own tunes and build a tuning calculator for tuners. Drifting does take time and patience, especially for the more annoying dirt, but it can be done.
