Offline play available for future in case of server issues

For what I heard Forza Motorsport will be online only.
I understand this decision by the publisher, is probably done to combat piracy on the PC platform.

I would only ask to keep it in mind to make it so in the future, it is possible to patch the game for offline play, so when the servers for the game are eventually turned off, people are still able to play this game.

I still play GT4, because it was one of my favorites racing games when I was growing up and despite having passed almost 20 years it is still a decent racing game to pass the time. So please, leave the possibility open for in the future, to also be possible to keep playing Forza Motorsport.

You’ll earn a lot of the community respect if you do it, I promise you.

Thank you.

Hi all.

I have just found out that the next FM game needs internet for the career mode; and to make any progression you need to be connected to the servers.

This has made me very upset and frustrated; and on many sites it’s mentioned that other Forza fans share the same frustration.

The fact that makes me upset the most is that in 5 years give or take when T10 lose the rights, the game will be delisted, which means the servers will go down, which means slapping a big virtual lable marked unplayable on most of the game’s content, which means a lot of unlucky players (me included) would lose up to 90 bucks, all this in a big chain reaction!

I’m bothered more about the content than the money, but it would seem like T10 and the FM Dev team are bothered more about cheaters rather than the overall player/fanbase to the point where they’re pulling off something like this.

Tolerating various cars of features getting nerfed for fairness is one thing, however enforcing mandatory internet requirements for content other than multiplayer should be a big no no!

It grinds my gears that T10 are worried about cheaters, but they are essentially cheating us buyers out of our money, because like it or not in 5 years you won’t be able to progress, rendering the game useless: unless t10 give us the means to unlock everything for use in free play, ahem oh wait that’s cheating! shoot me!

I want to create a partition somehow and get some friendly faces who feel the same way about this as I do involved as an effort to send a message to T10 to make them aware how unhappy we are as the gaming/Forza community; and that we want the career and progression to be usable offline!

If you like and or agree with my post, please share it around. I want to get it as much out there as I can for people to see; and it will be possible with help from you awesome Forza Fans!
I’ll be making this same post on Redit, but I won’t post any links due to me not wanting to break any rules on self promotion.

In 6 months most player base will move to other games.

Indeed… seems to be a trend really.

Recently went back to play FM4 and almost all of features have gone because they were linked into servers that have been now turned off.

At least the single player mode is still available to play and works fine.

Everything is going GaaS now like it or not I guess… so I guess the attitude is embrace it or go play somewhere else!

I will play FM because it is on GP however I would never buy a game like this again as essentially its tailored to being on a service based platform and can be rendered useless at any point if the servers get turned off. See the release of GT7 - single player mode unusable because of server issues.

Online-only singleplayer content stopped me from buying Gran Turismo 7 and a PS5 altogether.
Like, the singleplayer mode doesn’t have to be a drawn out career mode with story and whatnot, but there should be something to play and progress offline. If I’m completely locked out of the game as soon as my internet/Microsoft’s servers go offline, I may as well have never bought it to begin with.

Reviving this tread in order to say that today, my internet wiring was under maintenance and I was without internet for the entirety of the day. I bought the game on steam so I used the day to test the offline mode…I’m sorry to say, but the most I can see about it is that it is functional.

Yes, you can choose freemode and create custom events, that nice. BUT YOU CAN’T TUNE THE CARS.

Come on now…the game can’t have a local file with the tune options saved? This is an objectively failure of design, and in a game with so many issues as this one, it’s just another nail in the coffin.
