Basically like the title says, are there any advantages to using a heavy 4x4 SUV over a smaller lighter 4x4 rally car?
For example jeep wrangler vs Subaru?
Also are there any advantages to using a rally 4x4 like a Subaru vs a 4wd street car in races that go both on and off road?
I was wondering if it made a difference to use a car that was made for off road vs on road?
Or should I just always use a 4wd fast as poo lambo for all my races?
The dedicated offroaders are much easier to control offroad, that’s about it. Other vehicles are much faster, but will be a task to keep them pointed in the right direction.
My favourite “offroader” is my class C '69 Dodge Charger, complete with “Dukes of Hazzard” paintjob.
So the true street cars handle worse off road?
I’m wondering if there are mods that will make street cars better off road or ones that make off road cars better on road. Example being put lower profile tired on off roaders or lower them. And it doesn’t appear there are mods for street cars to raise suspension / make tires bigger?
Do those affect handling off road at all?
^ yeah we were discussing this the other day.
Some say that raising the ride height (tuning > springs) help. You could go full soft to absorb the terrain, but that can go either way depending on vehicle weight and other things. I’m really not sure how deep the tuning impact on cars is relative to Forza. Try tire width upgrade maybe.
Thing is that we can save tune setups and tune on the fly, so you can just get out there and try extreme tune setups, and keep changing them as you go, throw a noodle on the wall, see what sticks lol
I’ve bought the Rover and camo’d it up ready to roll, so I can at least say that there is one advantage. They look better in camo.
