There was some excellent preview explanation and video examples of physics updates in the works, check out the replay at around the hour mark:
Thanks Max, it was a treat to watch!
any idea when these updates will hit, especially FFB update
Have the patch notes been released?
Can always find latest patch notes in this thread https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm969583findlastpost_FM7-Release-Notes--UPDATED-October-2--2018.aspx
Thank you
That was a positive update on the livestream last night looking into the future of FM7. If they deliver on their promises then FM7 will be a completely different game from launch.
Better contact physics is something Forza has needed for a long time so I’m really looking forward to that. No more billiard balls contact.
All new cars are available and accessible for all. If you like to have them in your garage just play game and level up and you will get them all FE for 0 credit and lambo for 650k on level up rewards.
Best regards
Yep, saw it last night and got 4 FE cars. Today I got the final 2 and the Diablo GTR.
Maybe some gaming insiders can answer a question for me. I keep waiting to go too deep into the single player part of this game. I’ve had this thing about a year and with each monthly update I figure it’s okay to start the career. but then they tease about some major change in the future, so I decide to wait another month. I mean, they’re going to change what? Well, there’s no sense in starting it until that’s done. Month after month.
There’s been expansions with previous editions but the stuff they are talking about are not expansions and they’re a hell of lot more than “fixed an issue”. The stuff discussed recently sounds like a major overhaul of the code. Like what the Master Chief Collection underwent. You had to redownload that whole thing, the code was rewritten that much.
Why do publishers do this crap? Force their developers to release way too early. I’ve had Project Cars 2 for a year now and they’ve finally gotten it in great shape. Both SMS and T10 have continued to work on these things for the past year but have angered and alienated many players who aren’t as patient as me. Forza Horizon 4 will go through the same growing pains the next year. Wouldn’t it have been much better for gamers, devs, and the publisher if they had simply put in another year on these titles before release? I’m sympathetic for the devs. They get reemed hourly in the forums for their mistakes and stomped on by the publisher for wanting more time to make it right before release. Take heed tho, pubs, sooner or later, enough of us will wise up enough to never buy a game at launch again, and wait another year. Give your devs more time. How cost effective is it to release a game prematurely only to tie up the devs the following year bug fixing and overhauling the thing while pushing customer temperaments into kick-a-puppy-land? They ask for refunds and the game gets a bad rap affecting sales anyway.
Keep at it tho, T10. I do appreciate your continued efforts. The game should be really great when y’all figure it’s done. Guess I’ll check back in a few months.
Of course it would be better to take a year longer, the writing was on the wall for at least the last four years. But with how little first party exclusives there are, it wasn’t possible to delay a Forza game. Horizon 4 is just repeating it, with features missing at launch that were once announced to be in the game (taxi story mission, route creator). Both Motorsport and Horizon need to switch to a three year cycle or stock up on manpower. But while we are still buying the games there is no need to change it. Sales of Motorsport 7 are bad, that is why they try to turn it around now. Because they notice that we won’t keep buying the games with their marginal improvements. Well, we here might still, but the majority of customers won’t. What they need to do (and I think Microsoft finally realized that it is either that or the end of the franchise) is to reinvent the game, have different tracks and different cars and address the long existing problems and wishes (rammers, more motorsport atmosphere, qualifying, …).
Forza Motorsport is at an intersection. If they kept doing the same thing they would all lose their jobs. I hope they turn it around and make it into the greatness that was Forza 4 again. By adding new things and keeping the ones that are great.
Must admit I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about this potential over haul of the game. I only heard about it because my partners brother had heard a snippet about it.
Guess if they are tinkering with things like physics etc then there will be another leaderboard wipe at some point in the future. Still will be interesting to see how it comes out and actually if it works (and they finally manage to fix the garage lag issue online for normal xbox one users) then for me that would be better than having FM8 this time next year.
Huge kudos for replacing prize crates with option to actually buy what you want. I really hope this starts a trend not just for Forza, but other Microsoft games like Gears and hopefully, with enough press coverage, other games!
Its always nice to hear that improvements to the game are coming. Kind of takes the sting out of not getting FM8 in 2019. I just wish they could give us some estimate as to when the new wheel FFB will go live. I’m super hyped for that one. Thanks in advance T10!
