The November update for Forza Motorsport 7 launched today. The November update includes some important changes in Forza Motorsport 7, including the removal of prize crates, the introduction of Race Shop, physics changes that affect collisions between cars in game, and more. For the full rundown on those changes, see our announcement story.

Due to the removal of prize crates, we have made an important chance to our Forza Rewards programs. Instead of receiving prize crates per Tier, new Forza Motorsport 7 players will receive Mod cards per Tier. For the full rundown of what cards are available per Rewards Tier, check out November 2nd edition of the Forza Week in Review.

In addition to various localization and UI improvements, this update addresses several issues in the game. See below for all the details.

GENERAL
Fixed an issue where Drift leaderboards were only viewable in the post-race screen of a Drift game type event.
Fixed an issue where, when entering the Auction House via Message Center and then returning to Message Center with the “B” button, the only available tab would be the Auction House.
Fixed an issue where player who purchased FM7 VIP pack would receive a “Failed to Acquire VIP Rewards” message after entering the title.
Fixed an issue where, when taking a photo of a car in ForzaVista mode and then returning to the Message Center from the main menu, all tabs and messages would be missing.
Added an available Reward Count to Driver Level Rewards screen.
Fixed starting location on Spa-Francorchamps track map during the pre-race UI scene.
Fixed an issue where suspension values would max out after tuning while in Test Drive.
Fixed an issue where entering Photo Mode with a wheel and then exiting the mode with a controller would cause both wheel and controller to lose all racing functionality.
Re-aligned UI elements in Digital Speedometer HUD option.
Fixed an issue in Message Center where navigating between tabs using a mouse does not change what messages are being viewed.
Fixed an exploit in drift Rivals events, where players could post a combined 2-lap score to the leaderboard.
Fixed an exploit where, when a player car’s PI was higher than the race restrictions, players could homologate car to stock parts and start the race without losing upgrades.
Fixed an issue where a player would attempt to install a valid tune from the pre-race screen and would be met with an “illegal tune” message.
PC players can now enter the main menu by clicking the mouse on the Start Screen.

MULTIPLAYER
Fixed an issue where using the “Enter” key on a keyboard while voting for the next track in multiplayer would also inadvertently select the highlighted option on the background menu.
In Open Drift Track Day hoppers, tracks no longer specify a lap count to complete the race.
Fixed an issue in Multiplayer: Unlimited Drag where countdown HUD was missing “0” numeral in front of “3” and “2” during “3, 2, 1” countdown.
Fixed an issue where PC players could not use the mouse to change race grid order.
Fixed an issue where a player who was kicked from a lobby after finishing a race will have his/her Gamertag missing from the race ticker/race telemetry/distance ahead HUD screens.

DRIVATARS
Fixed an issue where Drivatar opponents consistently drive off track on certain tracks, including Rio Full Circuit and Mountain Circuit, Alps Festival Circuit and Stadtplatz, and Sonoma Short Circuit. 300521 301520,

CARS
Corrected name consistency issues in the game for the 2016 Honda Civic Type R and the 2016 Jaguar F-Type Project 7 Forza Edition.

FREE PLAY

Fixed an issue where Car Select/All Cars tile was inconsistent with Buy and Rent Car tiles in other parts of the game.

SPECTATE
In Spectate mode, distance gaps for cars that are more than one lap behind the leader are now correct.
Fixed an issue in Spectate mode where, when turning on and off the ticker in a race with less than four racers, the ticker animation would behave unexpectedly.
Fixed an issue in Spectate mode, where the Race Banner would not fade out and in properly if turned off and on.
Fixed an issue where, while in Spectate, changing the car results in the mini-map moving slightly when zoomed in.

Was really looking forward to new ffb, so disappointed with release notes ;-(

Nice update, less crashing. Online experience is great now!

The Porsche 917/30 is in forza specials??? Unreal man, whoever is in charge of putting cars into divisions needs to get smacked.

Ugh. In reality, every car in that division can fit into another division in the game, it makes 0 sense…

Yuuuup. That really, really sucks. I was all ready to go complete all my Elite Open events with the 917/30 in the Early Prototype Racers or Prototype Group Racing category, both categories that would be a perfect fit for this car. Dumb choice on behalf of T10 to not let players do so.

They SO OFTEN manage to do this; start out so, so well (in this case, including the car in the game) and mucking it up somehow. Other examples I can think of include bringing us the gimmicky version of the first 917, or not putting the 804 and Type 35 in the Open Wheel Legends category. Since I don’t multiplay, I really don’t see when I’m going to use this car.

I don’t see a SINGLE WAY – not one – the 917/30 fits in a category that includes vans, the Prowler, a limo, a police car/taxicab, those gawdawful Toyota trucks, and a Frankenstein Miata. I would LOVE to see T10’s logic on this one; maybe it has something to do with McLaren not wanting players to race against their car in the very car that ended their annual stranglehold on the Can-Am Championship IRL? Please tell me they can fix this. Ess Em 8ch.

It’s gotta be a bizarre combination of laziness and utter stupidity on Turn 10’s part. They’re either too lazy to implement balancing for the Forza Specials cars to fit in their PROPER divisions, or they’re too stupid to know where they go in the first place (Toyota Trophy Truck isn’t grouped with the other Trophy Trucks? Can-Am racer isn’t grouped with the other Can-Am racers? Bulky offroaders not grouped with the other offroaders? Hot Wheels for some reason don’t get their own division like FD, Hoonigan and F&F? The list literally will not end).

Yes, it is. And there’s nothing wrong with that. The real car was absurdly overpowered next to its competitors and to put it in Prototype Group Racing would’ve meant a level of nerf higher than what the 935/78 got. The 935 had 850 bhp in reality and must race with 550-ish when homologated, which is a problem on high speed tracks when it generates so much downforce and has only four gears.

The 917/30 is at P920 on slicks and Prototype Group Racing is R850 on vintage grooved tires. There’s simply no way to balance it. You’d have to bring the others on par with it, which would’ve meant boosting their upgrades and therefore ruining tunes.

A similar situation occurred with the Porsche 804, which was too weak to go up against the other F1 cars, even when fully upgraded, so it got put in Forza Specials. This division is not for junk, nor “joke cars”, it’s for cars that can’t fit into any division, for various reasons. Again, nothing is stopping you from going into Advanced Restrictions and creating a field of 60s F1 cars with the 804 in it.

You can easily make custom races in Free Play, so what’s the problem? I really don’t get you guys, one day the homologation is bad, the other you yearn for it. Few people play the career anymore, so there’s no loss there either. And, before you mention “end the homologation”, the 917/30 can’t reach top of P-class either.

But that’s what makes the 917/30 so great, and so worthy of being recognized here and in other forms of media! It was the car that finally was able to compete with McLaren, which won pretty much every Can-Am race – not Can-Am Championship, I mean nearly every individual race – in the early '70s. The 917/30 worked within the confines of those rules, so why not here? And of COURSE there’s a way to balance it: force me to install the same tires that all the other cars in the category have. Knowing how much of a difference tire choice makes in FM7, I’m sure that would do the trick. Might make the car tough to drive, but at least it’d be my choice to drive it. Right now, I don’t even have the choice in career. Which you say “few play”, which I’m sure you can’t prove.

When do we get it? I’m on PC and haven’t had any updates yet.

nm it’s starting now.

I like the new shop that updates like every 5 minutes or so, and i like the pricing of most items.
Thanks for all the free cars too.

Well I mean I’m not so mad anymore although I still believe it should be placed in it’s proper division, overpowering or not. But being able to turn down the power and grip handicaps plus using buckets helps keep this car within it’s proper field being competitive with the other can ams. There is ways around things thank God.

The car comes with Goodyear slicks and there are cars in PGR division with grooved tires. However, I’ll say that T10 should add the ability to make tires narrower as well as letting us fit every measure in-between the ones we have now.

Another problem is that homologation is supposed to be balanced (even if it isn’t). If you, say, cut power by half and the car still ends up 2 seconds faster than the others, it can’t be in that division. Same as if it was slower. And there’s also the class system to take into account.

The 804 for example can’t hope to compete against the other F1 cars. Its tires are too narrow and it lacks power next to the others, even with supercharger conversion. So it was left out. The BMW 328 can be upgraded to Vintage Sport Coupe rules (C450) but its tires are too narrow, which hurts its handling, so that’s probably why it was left out.

Then there are things such as licensing which may prevent us from changing stuff in the cars. The tires in the 917/30 are lettered so it’s possible Porsche requested T10 to make an exact copy of the car and didn’t allow any changes. To me it seems there’s lots of stuff they can’t do because of licensing. It’s definitely strange that we can’t fit the Ford cars with the 5.0 Coyote. Ford is stingy with copyrights so maybe they copyrighted “5.0 V8” and don’t let T10 use engines with that description, which includes Jaguar’s supercharged V8 and Ford’s own 302.

Indeed. For some weird reason I’m fascinated by licensing issues, and I can see how this would make sense.

There is another ‘new’ car added to the game:
Pontiac T/A FE

It’s the participants reward in the november spotlight rivals challenge.

edit:

There is also a BMW driver gear ^^

Unfortunately it is not possible to earn this car via level up rewards. I did try this yesterday but no luck.

So when do we get the new FE Pontiac GTA TA . . I’ve completed the Rivals that it was scheduled to. Will it be rewarded on the next full start up, or in the Eecember Update.

The Lamboghinie Diablo GTR we were supposed to get for participating in one of last months Rivals, did NOT appear in my update or free cars or Rewards . . Any tips ppl?

Del

The new collisions are awesome. It’s the beginning of the end for all crashers.
