For those of us who don’t use tweeter or myface, can someone please explain what the recent 250mb+ update did? I had a quick look at Rivals & multiplayer as well as did a race to see if the VIP Bonus was implemented, but there are no changes that I have seen thus far.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide details.
I noticed legendary perks were changed. I briefly played today and did a race on Dubai with the Acura NSX forza edition and it no longer awards 20,000 credits on Dubai; it now awards +40% bonus on Dubai. It still awards +40% credits on any track though.
edit: ok so every forza edition car now has a percentage secondary perk rather than a flat perk.
I don’t know why they call the usage of FE cars with XP bonus an exploit, because it was as legit as something can be in the game and to punish someone for that would be madness. Some people couldn’t even do normal or a bit longer races, because the game crashed and leveling up a bit faster with FE cars was pretty much the only way. Other methods that really are exploits or glitches is a different story and there have been signals that some people have been banned (example).
I don’t want to be that guy, but T10 priorities are a bit fishy, because they bothered to fix the FE cars right away, but there is no signs of VIP 2x CR bonuses and I’m not sure, what is going on with not getting any credits for your designs, when someone likes or uses them. The VIP bonus thing should be as easy to fix as changing the bonuses on FE cars.
The FE car ones weren’t glitches. They did what they were designed to do and worked as intended. It’s just that nobody figured players would abuse them in the way that they did.
I agree with you and some of this could have been mitigated from the start by not enabling the timer on FE cars on those boards or setting a certain number of laps to enable the credit bonus. I like how people say that using the FE cars on the tracks that they give out bonuses on and doing short races to gain credits are glitches, but going on the oval with the AI set to unbeatable with the most powerful car (FF car) and doing 50 laps is not? I do not consider either to be a glitch. I guess people now a days like to use the term “glitch” instead of calling it what us old school gamers call “cheating”. So I will clarify for those who do not know the difference. A “cheat” aka “glitch” is intentionally doing things that are not intended to happen in the game ie., going outside of the track, having cars hit you so you can go 300+mph, using programs to perform the cheats (old school game genie, etc.), a “glitch” is when you intentionally cause the game to do something that it is not designed to do, and basically breaks the game (this is not the developers fault and the cheaters should be punished). An “exploit” is when someone uses the games parameters to their advantage, ie., there is a faster way to level up using in game parameters that were shipped with the game and not using “glitches/cheats”, playing the game with the tools they gave you to play it with and finding a smarter way to use those tools to level up (FE cars on certain tracks with certain track settings), this is the developers fault and within their power to have fixed before and after the game has shipped, and people who used the “exploit” should not be blamed for “working smarter not harder”. I am sure there are other exploits within the game this one was just a really obvious one. I am glad that they patched it, but I think the patch could have been done differently as I stated in this post. Also all cars should be eligible for sale. Most of the cars you get from leveling up you cannot even sell so I don’t know what all the fuss is about people leveling up and hoarding cars for the AH, I only have 150 cars and some of those I got from level up rewards and most if not all of them do not even have the option to sell them. Even with the cars you win from playing the story you cannot sell those either well at least the ones I have. Like the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, does not even have the ability to sell it. You cannot even sell the Specialty Dealer cars as well, they do not even have the option at this time which I think should be changed. I was just adding to the post that I quoted above.
The FE cars were coded to give x bonuses. Im guessing the car design team and the race design team didnt quite connect and the 30 second race allowance and the 7500 xp car both entered that game and were accessable to the players straight up. There was no sneaky business required to play the game in that manner. You picked the car you picked the track you set the race parameters. Then you spam menus untill you get sick of it and do career, do online or turn off the xbox
An exploit really is when theres a bit of wonky code which you hear baout from someone who heard it from that guy who data mined it from x hack site who cracked the game cause they dont care. Such as the whole do a “super easy race” then immediately do a 30 second race on max difficulty to trigger the game to crash to give you dozens of free level up rewards. That was not coded into the game, that is an exploit and that deserves some form of roll back at the very least. Everyone who played legit (yes those who even put the FE car and track combo to use) is now forever trapped half a year or more behind people who exploited a bug in the base coding and the underlying stability of it.
I can honestly think of cases where people exploited in other games and they were not banned but they did have all thier ill gotten gains removed and they were reset back to how they were before they started cheating the code. Which would be lvl 1, collector 1 for many if not all the exploiters.
I stand corrected. I misspoke when I used the term “exploit”. Using the set parameters within the game is not an exploit. Since we are talking about software here then I will use the definition of exploit in regards to software: exploit - a software tool designed to take advantage of a flaw in a computer system, typically for malicious purposes such as installing malware. So T10 shipping the game with those parameters is not an exploit. When you talk about exploits in computer terms it often refers to unauthorized access. Nothing was accessed that was off limits, to my knowledge no one used an exploit to open up areas that were labeled “Coming Soon”. An exploit would require another program or an altercation of the code included in the game to make it do something unintended. A “cheat/glitch” is intentionally circumventing the controls and parameters put in place to create an unfair advantage. IE, T10 changed the FE cars an exploit would be to somehow reset them back to their original settings (ie delete the game and reinstall it and play offline to rack up credits and then sign in online and reap the rewards after they changed the parameters) and then go continue to make credits with them. I am sure there are some people who are doing that if it is possible. I am not one of them. So your argument fails.
Look what “Exploit” in regards to software. Since Forza Motorsport 7 is a software product. Using certain cars on the tracks that they give bonuses out on (tracks that T10 Designated) and racing on them is not a “game vulnerability”. Secondly T10 did not say what was or was not intended for most of the FE cars except those cars like the “1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe Forza Edition” which stated “50% CR | +50% CR at 150 MPH”. To simplify it for you an exploit would be finding a way to get that second +50% CR that was only available at 150 MPH without ever having to reach 150 MPH. The first “50% CR” is not defined and therefor not subject to any intentions so you should get "50% CR just for picking the car and entering a race no matter the race parameters. An “exploit game vulnerability” would be using those cars on tracks not specified on the car and still getting the bonuses some how and repeating that. I know you want your argument to valid but it is not. Give it up, hence the reason T10 did not choose to punish those who used the FE cars on the tracks they specified them to be used on. They chose to punish those who actually used and “exploit” to “cheat”. Nothing was hacked as far as I know of, no race parameters were bypassed or unlocked by using those cars on the tracks they were designated for. Another example would be if say the Specialty Dealer had it to where you could buy say 5 of each car in the dealer when the game launched, then they (T10) came out and changed that later, saying you can only buy one of each. In your eyes you would probably say that this was an “exploit”, when it in reality is not, because it was never communicated that you were only supposed to be able to by just one. Same with the FE cars on certain tracks, the cars were used on the tracks specified for those cars. Nothing was communicated as to which race parameters should be used or needed to be used. Those cars didn’t do anything unintended on those tracks (like going faster than they regularly would, or make other cars act weird). I have given numerous examples for you to look at, but more than likely you are probably set in your flawed thinking. There was no exploit, and that is where your argument falls flat. This is the last I will speak on this issue, with you.

October 10, 2017
Today we released the most recent update for Forza Motorsport 7. This update addresses numerous issues on both the Xbox One and PC versions of the game, including:
• Fixed an issue where tracks would disappear after a player uses repeated rewinds in a race.
• Fixed an issue where some players’ Forza Rewards gifts were not saving properly after they were initially revealed in game.
• We’ve addressed a game exploit whereby players could use Forza Edition cars to gain unrealistic leveling and rewards. In the interest of maintaining game balance, we have instituted rewards changes for all Forza Edition cars, replacing flat XP secondary rewards with a percentage-based credit (CR) reward. With this update, all Forza Edition cars will offer a primary percentage CR reward and a secondary conditional percentage CR reward. All VIP Forza Edition cars will now offer a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary conditional +50% CR reward. For example, the 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Forza Edition previously offered a primary CR reward of +25% and a secondary flat +5,000 XP award after 3 good drifts in a race. With this update, the Silvia now offers a primary reward of +25% CR and a secondary reward of +25% CR after 3 good drifts in a race. As a further example, the 2014 BMW M4 Coupe Forza Edition (a VIP FE car) previously offered a primary +40% CR reward and a secondary flat +10,000 XP reward at the Nürburgring. With the update, the BMW now offers a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary +50% CR reward at the Nürburgring.
• Addressed an issue where the game would crash during Driver Level Rewards screen, causing extra level-up rewards to be available.
• PC and Multiplayer stability fixes.
