Due to the crappy anti social online experience and difficulty communicating with or meeting like minded people I will ask here. (last resort before I go back to FH3)
I need someone to compete with in drift zones, not necessarily at the same time online, but to add as a friend so we can compete on the leader board.
Its boring just competing alone against others who once 3 starred the zone don’t go back to better the score.
All of my FH3 friends don’t log into FH4 anymore (after only 3 weeks) so if I am to stay and make some fun out of the game I need a challenge.
I added a few known players as their scores were high in FH3 as a benchmark to compete with but even they have given up in FH4 and not leveled up or increased their scores in weeks.
If your looking for some competition add me in game and let the challenge begin. I am in the top 1000 on most zones, drive old school muscle, speak English and am on Australian time zone. I play most evenings. I am happy to compete with you in FH3 also if you have a favorite zone.
Also if you cant drift I don`t mind helping out with tunes / advise - actual settings etc not just download my locked tune blindly.
*To the Devs, FH3 had no problem with meeting people online as there was a common place to drift in the carpark - this was a social area and meeting people who liked to drift was easy, for some reason enhanced online experience translates to needing to beg in the forum to meet someone as there is nowhere to go in game to be social anymore.
If I do go back to FH3 for the social atmosphere there is no need to purchase any further car packs or expansions in FH4 - just food for thought.
Sorry I can’t help you with the drift stuff but as a new player to the forza series I have to say the social aspects seem very badly implemented. I’ve found the best thing to do is to treat this game as a single player experience that can be played for a few weeks then dropped for another game as all the competitive or social aspects are flawed to the point of frustration.
Was FH3 much better in these areas? I am really looking for some good multiplayer racing and this game is not the one I am looking for unfortunately. I’d buy 3 if it’s much more straight forward to compete with other real people.
FH3 was and still is a much better social experience with many more racing opportunities, they could easily make some changes before too many of us go back.
I played FH3 for the whole 2 years and never tired of it, this is only because I enjoyed meeting people and drifting with random drivers at the carpark on a casual basis, I still play it during winter.
I have played FH4 now for 5 weeks and taken holidays to FH3 for both winters so only played for 3 weeks total and have completed everything I enjoy outside of drifting.
Right now after only 3 weeks of play I own all the houses and all the skirts and hats and have no more new races to do… sad huh in 3 weeks.
Most griping on here is about racing and the structure of events, personally I have never played them, I do my racing offline against drivertards - they are at least half decent drivers.
Unfortunately in FH4 they removed the championships too so its actual team racing or no racing - I just don’t race anymore after doing the exhibitions.
I also paint and for some reason in this enhanced game the painting areas are outside so the sunset or overcast weather makes colours hard to get just right, the other option is to paint at the festival site, but in here the lighting is very off and makes pearl paint look like chrome - its just too difficult to do it in here so I don’t bother with that either.
I even purchased the 15,000,000 mansion hoping for some good light and they have those crowd control ropes / bunting with a post right in the field of view !!
So for now all I have left is drift zones with no social place to meet anyone, thats why I am asking for some competition !! once that is done I will go back to FH3, cya there
I even added Don Slowone Thong for the competition but even he doesn’t seem to care / try…
Seriously why would they not include a meeting place that exceeded that carpark from FH3? there was always 10 people there - always in any session, obviously there is thousands of ppl who drift and that is their sole reason to play - not everyone is a professional racing car simulator driver.
It seems like a bad move to cut out a large percentage of people regardless of their activities - its just bad business practice in my eyes.
Imo yes it was, easily. fh4 is this team adventure thing but in fh3 it was just online adventure with 4 events and who collect most xp was champion, players was able to vote what next adventure is, rivals mode was mutch better etc.
We have actualy mutch bigger parking slot in fh4 than fh3 only problem is that is full of low quality bmw and minis and we dont have access in that area, that would have made great meating place. It feel stupid that game is made thinking more social stuff, we have quick chat and we are online with other peoples all the time but game feel less social than fh3 was.
My thoughts - I doubt they placed that car park in Horizon 3 purely for a meet up place. I think it just naturally turns into that. I agree, it was a nice place to meet. But expecting them to purposely throw in a car park as a meet up space is a reach.
A couple places come to mind that could potentially work, but none are “natural” like in Horizon 3.
There is a small car park in Edinburough (spelling?) on the corner of a stadium (?). It’s always the start of one of the Forzathon Live events. Could be a cool place to meet and drift around town.
The train station. I know it’s not really a flat surface but there are cool obstacles that could make a nice gymkana type layout.
The flower fields up in the top right area. Forget what they’re called. But they have a bunch of stone statues. The area would probably be cool to drift around.
I doubt it can happen naturally now since the other players are ghosts, makes it a bit hard to tandem and lean on each other. As for joining a convoy hoping its full of drifters its like winning a lottery - unlikely.
Although they may or may not have intended for the old carpark to become a meeting place they should still recognize how important it was and include something similar, maybe when you are in the area nobody ghosts?
Why even offer a drift car pack if there is nowhere to drift?
Either way a lot of people have now missed out on something that was cool about FH3.
Uhhhh what? There are more places to drift on this map than any other map. This game isn’t a multiplayer only game. It’s a mainly single player game that can be played with other people. Just because there isn’t some “meet up” space doesn’t mean there isn’t anywhere to drift.
Edit: I see you are unable to complete the drift story. If you were so good at drifting it should be a walk in the park. But it appears you need a very particular tune to actually be “good”
…I hate people who act like they’re better than everyone else.
When I say there is nowhere to drift I mean there is nowhere to drift tandems as we used to in the carpark - this would require actual people in a multiplayer environment.
I am fully aware I can go and drift anywhere alone if I want to.
I am not bragging about anything I am trying to find someone to compete with and put up some statistics to find someone at a similar skill level to make it competitive for both of us.
Really…? I drift on ANY road or ANY other surface…? There are PLENTY places to drift. u are limited by u’r imagination.
Want proof that i can drift (not that me or “Don Slowone Thong” have anything to prove to u)…? Maybe look at what my Global Postion was at the time i set these scores:
I’d just use the looking for group feature. Always a lot of people looking for other drifters on there. I use it for Goliath groups and cruising and sometimes it’ll take a little while to get an invite to the party and then another invite to the convoy, but once you’re in you can find some good groups.
It baffles me that u’r here to whine about something that u haven’t even completed yet…
To spell it out for u:
u have 444 other people to beat in the Drift Zone that u so arrogantly point out in u’r Signature image…, & who knows how many others to beat in the other Drift Zones.
So get to work & come back when u’r Number 1 in Everything Drift Related.
Thats fine mate, I wont thank you for pointing out the obvious.
I actually want to compete over a length of time against someone who also has the same desire. Not a list.
I dont do drift stories, dont like the tunes, cant drive my cars.
Ok for some
Does that debaffle your simple logic? [edited something that suggests profanity]
You probably didn’t do Bucket Lists in previous Horizons then…? coz that’s exactly what it replaced
If u played the other(s) & say u didn’t do Bucket Lists (because u “don’t like the tunes”), i would strongly not believe u.
Surely there are plenty other drifters that completed the drift stories…
PS: Don’t Blame u’r Tools…, if u’r as great as u want us to believe, then the Drift Stories should be a walk in the park.
…Cannot Wait for Drift Stories 2.0 btw…
See You in Fortune Island, Robert Glenn
Regardless of your negative attitude I added you last night in game just because I want some competition, its getting boring doing this against a list you cant communicate with. You do have me by a few hundred points on the donut drift zone, so last night I had some actual fun trying to catch you - unsuccessful at this stage but now i have a challenge (this is what i wanted - feel free to add me back and then do your best to beat some of my scores)
I did not actually do the bucket lists that were pre-made in game due to them all having cars I don’t actually like and tunes that were too sloppy for my liking.
What I did do in bucket lists was to create them and send the challenges to my friends who once completed it then set one up for me to do…that was fun, other than that I didn’t do bucket lists at all.
I don’t claim to be the drifting superstar, I am just looking for someone at my skill level to compete with who will actually fight back on the leader board and give some depth to the play.
Drifting in the old carpark doing tandems was a blast and I spent hours there daily with random people of various skill levels. Those tunes were 600hp on race tires. For me in drift zones I use stock tires to drift longer for the straight parts with 1000hp.
The drift club tunes to me feel like my carpark tunes and are very different to what I prefer in a zone - that’s the main reason I don’t like them.
Second reason is just because i drift don’t assume I want to drive a Nissan or Mazda. I drift in the cars I like in RL, it isn’t fun to be forced into a car you don’t enjoy looking at.
If drift club gave you the challenge and allowed you to use your own car I would be all over it.
Its really complicated stuff isn’t it.
PS: I don’t blame my tools, I just like to use the correct tool.
I dont know abaout you but at least for me it’s mutch more fun to try to beat friend score (or time) than random peoples that are on the list. I have really nice rival against few club members in fh3 and i dont get same feeling when beating some random people’s times.
Exactly !
Its about fun & competition, all I am trying to achieve is a friend or 2 who will fight back to take the top spot in an ongoing battle - this will give the event some longevity.
In FH3 i had quite a few rivals but they have gone back to FH3 after less than 3 weeks so I’m here looking for someone to fill their shoes.
Why don’t these knuckle heads see this?
