I was just reading about the World of Speed game that’s in the works, and their approach to “scoring” a race seems like something kinda neat and easily implemented into a Forza hopper if the devs were so inclined…
tl;dr: Rather than being about who is first across the line or turns in the best lap time, you earn points by driving clean, good lines, etc. etc. Position and lap time factor into it as well, but it sounds like it could be balanced to be a less aggressively competitive gametype than the typical public lobbies.
What do you guys think? Just something for non-racing folks, or could this still be fun for people who actually enjoy racing, too?
it could be fun id also like to see staggered starts as in 10 second intervals before each racer starts so fastest laps wins and stop the first corner demo derbys
They already did this in FM4. It was known as ‘B Class Time Attack’.
As for a points system, it sounds good, but its all about how it works ‘in-practice’. I cant help but think it would be plagued with issues of balancing for all sorts of situations that can come out of a race. And how would you determine things such as ‘who was the perpetrator in a collision?’, ‘was that incident of going off road caused by the driver, or the situation they were in forcing it to happen?’ or ‘was that corner cutting or intentional avoidance of a potential collision?’
It would be hard to put in place such a fair, balanced and accurate system without abuse, trolling, and head scratching situations. One thing that may be close to this if BF4’s skill system, which is used to balance teams and work in matchmaking. Does it work? No
Best thing to do. Do what everyone else has said. Report, Block, leave, find another session. Or outwit them and drive smarter.
Nice Idea… T10… it would be nice if this could be implemented.
