Not using GPU

wrong buddy i have an 8 core cpu, 32 gig of ram, and dual 980Ti and the game is running on an ssd drive. theres something clearly wrong with the chopping of frames in this beta

They never fixed the AI 1st and 2nd place rubber banding ahead of the rest of the pack, I was absolutely shocked to see that after all this time, this bs is still hardcoded here again. In NFS its the opposite effect Rubber banding for an artificial difficulty spike, but at least in that it was less obvious that the game was manipulating the world to add to the experience, in this your victory is so blatantly being stolen by spontaneously inflated performance. I posted that negative review directing the devs to the forums, if you want them to take notice of the forums, go upvote my comment on the one star posts, posted by “Grant”

One update… Tried to make a 4gig ram disk and set windows to use that for the page/swap partition and so far not had a single stutter even though I have been playing more than I did previous times.

Thats more information into the problem, but not something im going to do myself. Devs need to know about this if its to be fixed.

I have a GTX 970 with a pc I7 8GB Ram, I never had this problem. My forza 6 Apex walking impeccable, by cons I can not play because it lacks the wheel carrier, the handle I tried but I can not play. Xbox one controller works well

Have you tried playing it for extended periods?? Also is you system and swap disk a SSD?
I myself am still using a standard hard drive, so that also makes this issue more noticeable.

And another thing before I go for the rest of mothers day, This is exactly the kind of damn crap that happens when you lock down files on the PC. Generally, when something goes wrong, you can go on a fan forum and get help from other people for your problems, and if a game is acting buggy, and its a file problem, you can go in and fix the file, or in the case of steam,validate those files. BUT WHEN YOU HAVE THE GAME UNDER TOTAL LOCKDOWN, and the devs are the only ones who can fix anything, YOU WOULD EXPECT THE DEVS TO BE MUCH MORE HANDS ON TO FIX INDIVIDUAL PROBLEMS, as the community has no power to do so for themselves, I would have tried to validate my files when this first started, and doing so would probably fix the problems I have when I force SLI and get a bunch of glitches. So this whole locked down system that MS is perpetuating is causing a huge problem right out of the gate. And even I was thinking it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, that if there were problems, it would be in MS and T10s best interest to fix it, Apparently I was dead wrong, apparently it is a repeat of the past.

esterday I play for 1 hour to try, there is no bug, I standatrt disc 2 T

I’m having the same issue, infinity stutters when I play more than 2 or 3 races in a row. I noticed on MSI Afterburner the use of RAM is only 9GB, but the use of page file is insane, something between 12~22GB. My GPU and CPU only use 40~70% when i’m playing with all the graphics settings maxed out, but when I start the second or third race, the game start to stutter and don’t stop even if I change the graphics to the minimum possible.

My PC specs: i5 4670k @ 4,4GHz, 16GB DDR3 1866MHz, GTX 970 Windforce, SSD Samsung EVO 840 250GB.

I am also getting the same stutter issues, every race (apart from that utter tosh bowling thing T10 keep making us do, keep that non-racing stuff in Horizon).

Installed on both C:\ (Main OS drive) Samsung 850 Pro SSD and E:\ Samsung 840 Pro SSD, issues are still present and making the game unplayable.

This game is either optimised to god tier levels on Xbox One, or it is just badly optimised on PC.

I was quite shocked at what sort of machine you need to get the game to run smoothly with similar settings to Xbox One, and reality is, it’s a monster. You’re talking like 3x the CPU and GPU performance of the console. That’s faaaaar more than what you typically would need on a PC game to match/overcome the advantages consoles usually have in optimisation…

Therefore my conclusion is that the game currently just runs very badly on the universal windows platform, the same as all like the other titles we have seen. Quantum Broken etc

It’s a beta though, I am entirely aware of what that means and would hope the build will become considerably more refined over the next couple of months. Oh, and added wheel support, which is the dumbest decision I have seen in the history of PC racing games. Probably shouldn’t have released it just yet without that, beta or no beta…

yea its got the occasional memory-leak induced hicup its not unplayable and its certainly not bad enough to demand immediate attention

Devs use the weak console cores as the only means of internal timer/synchronization method,look at the video if any thread decides that it has some work to do then it runs as fast as possible with no regard to the rest of the threads,no syncing being done, and gpu load goes towards zero,normally this wouldn’t be a problem for multicored CPUs,plenty of cores of the other threads to do their business, but alas the games thread-load leveling sucks,all threads run on the same core.
Also the threads priorities get reset on every new track so on every track there is a possibility of the threads acting up when they did not before.

Don’t get your hopes up that this will be fixed,it would mean a huge overhaul to the game engine and as long as they can claim that it runs without problems for most people…

only loads my first and third core, second and fourth are idol.

good video. seams like there opened up more customization for the PC with the bottle neck of the game still thinking its on console? that’s what i got from the video.

I don’t know,the one thing I got is that any thread that needs work done almost completely stops all other threads from doing any work,maybe it’s because the consoles are not multitasking environments .

Ongoing from now T10 should build game play and test on PC first then down grade to console, instead of just testing game play on console first. Who know this maybe they idea going forward

Just built a new pc after months of not having a game pc. I7 6700k, gtx970, 16gb ddr4, installed on samsung 850evo and i also get stutters after a couple of races. Is a real letdown. Hope it gets fixed, game looking very nice though.
