As the title says none of the cars display the correct weight and power/weight ratio. Whether this is purely displayed incorrectly or the cars actual weight and power/ratio is inaccurate I cant say. Never the less I haven’t come across one car thats even remotely accurate in regards to these stats. Below are just some examples.
I think the wrong unit is shown here or no conversion from kg to lbs is done. Both cars are shown as 922 and 1105 kg for me. That is still not the correct weight, but the difference is much smaller.
I have something else to add to the Porsche 919’s stats and that is that its powerband is completely broken.
Peak horsepower is between 5500 and 5600RPM on an engine that redlines at 9000RPM and hits the rev limit at 9500RPM.
To go fast with this car you need to setup the gearing for the engine to be around 5000 and 6500RPM for peak performance, shifting at the redline will consume more fuel and go slower.
I know some engines will perform better at lower RPMs but this is a huge discrepancy and I highly doubt this is how the real engine produces power. Assetto Corsa features this car and its powerband is closer to how I’d expect this engine to produce power.
Thanks @NotNismo69 for pointing this out, now I have something to do whilst the game is broken, scroll through each vehicle and see if the base weight and power are correct
Saying that cars have been properly researched on and data collected faithfully to be represented in the game.
So the V12 Ferraris in Assetto Corsa for example will accelerate correctly in each gear and hit their real life top speeds because - suuurpriiiiise - the power to weight ratio and drag characteristics are accurately represented, unlike Forza…
I only play the game once a week at the most these days and when I do jumping into some of the vehicles that are that weeks specials are truly horrible, if it’s not floating around with the tune it comes with it’s the sound, I’m really finding it hard to drive any of the vehicles with the stock engine cause they just sound so bad
I usually go and swap the engine out for one that sounds more engaging and then the vehicle is now just completely incorrect to the period all because the stock engine sound was so downright awful. I hope they speed up the audio overhaul they say they are doing
