Absolute random PI's

,

There are a so many cars with almost random PI’s. In older FM oder FH titles, the PI atleast made some sence…just a few examples:
2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS - 748
2019 Porsche 911 Speedster - 689
2021 Porsche 911 GT3 - 737
…they all use the same 4.0 flat six and have almost the same weight. The 2016 still has higher PI, despite having less power and torque

2018 Audi RS4 Avant - 637 (max. weight reduction alone brings this car straight to over 700 points)
2013 Audi RS4 Avant - 591
Despite the same weight + power and more torque (because smaller engine with turbo), the newer RS4 has almost 50 points more (FH5 23points)

2021 BMW M3 - 642
2020 BMW M8 - 720
…78 points differnce, in FH5 it was 19.

As far as I know, performance is not only determined by power and weight. Other factors like aero, tires, suspension, strength of car body, weight distribution, power and torque curve, etc., all affect the performance. So I agree that many PI numbers in Forza are not accurate, however, the examples you made are improper.

A proper example would be: Mazda MX-5 dominates open class lobbies when most of the cars are turned to the same PI number, which suggests that the PI of MX-5 is likely underestimated causing this car to have better actual performance when having the same PI as other cars.
