Non-car "Cars"

On the wishlist, I put a couple of “cars” that are not cars.

I put Quads, and Riding Mowers, to name two types…

Now, without discussing brand vs brand, I’m wondering how other’s feel about these… I’ve read about people building some pretty wicked machines, and racing them…

Right now, I’m also thinking about a ‘design it yourself’ type vehicle… Maybe even a separate app that does a sudo-CAD design of interior structures necessary. Maybe allowing different widths, even exceeding the current widths seen on some of the wider [both street, and racing type] cars and injects them in Forza 5, 6, or 7…

If a ride on mower turns up in the Specialty Dealer I will know who is responsible.

Modifying the game in such a manner is not allowed.
It could also result in a ban.
Not throwing shade on your idea, it’s just how it is.

I was not saying i would do the mods, but as another category for rides for Forza to add

Could be a cool feature, I believe Sega GT on the Dreamcast had a basic thing where you could choose body, drive, engine etc. With modern technology a la Spore (modern :stuck_out_tongue: ) maybe it could be possible to have procedurally generated body styling to make it truly your own.

IIRC, SEGA GT on the DC had the premise that you were a startup auto manufacturer creating and racing prototypes for production. I always wanted a more fleshed out version with many more body parts to mix and match.

I still regret suggesting vans in the Forza 3/4 era, eventhough they’re fun for 5 mins they do not fit in a racing game based arround cars.
Same for quads, maybe Horizon though?

When I could, I raced vans and pickups in career. It was a lot of fun trying to make them properly competitive. I tried to drive them in the multiplayer lobbies, but people assume you’re just a crasher/griefer and vote to kick every time. My RWD S700 drift Dodge Ram was awesome. I had to pick one of the run of the mill cars (350z/S14/etc) and switch to it at the last moment before the race launched so I wouldn’t get kicked. FM7 took away a lot of that fun.

That was also the only thing i did with the Transit mostly, i was able to make it competetive with the engine swap, the diesel was just too slow.
Wasn’t very much fun though, it just feels heavy and sluggish, and you have to constantly think 2 steps ahead because there is absolutely no maneuverability.

It was nowhere near as fast and fun as the Ford Supervan, and the Espace F1.

People will race anything with wheels and an engine.
There are even different classes in lawnmower racing for ride-ons and walk behind mowers…

Question is: is there enough interest to make it worthwhile for Turn10/PlaygroundGames to include it in Forza?

Tractor Pulls and Monster Trucks are very popular in certain parts of the World, but are not in Forza whereas Drifting is.
(not saying either is better than the other just giving an example)

Personally I’d like to see Steam Traction Engine racing… all the excitement of F1 but at 10mph!

Tractor Pulls seem to be a different category, kinda along the lines of Drag Racing… It’s a SHORT, straight line run…

At least BigFoot and Grave Digger can do turns. The question about them would be at what speeds can they do them?

I just want kart racing

Sorry if to blunt but no,we don’t need any quads or lawnmowers in the game, there is already to much off road buggies and trucks now with no use to them.

While you’re adding a bunch of other useless junk you should add some bulldozers for the rammers to play with.

DLC of earthmoving equipment, morphing terrain and a few mounds of dirt we could make our own offroad tracks and kill two birds with one stone.

SOME Riding Mowers can break 65MPH, which is not bad!

Look… I’m old. I started gaming on the Atari VGS, which became the 2600. I’m used to On/Off as far as directions, not this proportional stuff. That being said, I have a hard time with the TINY adjustments necessary for the F1 type cars and end up fishtailing down the tracks.

I’m MUCH more competitive with something along the lines of NASCAR, or just below them. NASCAR is so shoebox design that I don’t like them… In the words of Jeff Dunham “He’s making a left turn… He’s making a left turn… He’s making a left turn… I wonder what he’s going to do next!”

Do not want.

I race and love atv mx. I race ktm sx and walsh honda 450r.
Most atv are anything but race ready. You have to build from tbr ground up to make them competitive. By the time your done, the only thing tjats is highly modified frame and plastic. They even do motor swaps.
As much as I love them they dont belong in the game. Even the bigbore atvs really dont go over 100mph and the tracks would be basically too big for them. Same thing with lawnmower racing or even the razr. If anything kart racing should of been the included instead of any of the dfirt machine.

I was hoping somebody would talk about it without me asking, so…

Does ANYBODY here actually do [riding] lawnmower racing IRL?

If so, talk about your equipment please!
