No steering wheel animation in cockpit view when using racing wheel

Hi everyone,

I have the Hori Racing Wheel for Xbox One (purchased from Argos, UK store) and it works just fine with Forza Horizon 2, though…

I prefer to use the cockpit view (view from inside the car) when racing but when using the racing wheel, to control the car, I notice the cockpit steering wheel doesn’t move (animate) as I’m turning the real wheel, it just remain static.

This doesn’t happen if I use a standard Xbox One controller.

Anyone else come across this or have any thoughts?

Cheers.

I think the issue is more with the drivers for the wheel that need to be included in 2 layers of the Xbox One firmware than anything else. Have you contacted your local Xbox Support about this issue? Does the issue occur in other games (even though they are not meant to be controlled with a wheel) where some movement/buttons don’t work as expected?

The issue I am seeing, but I could be wrong: although Hori lists the wheel as officially Microsoft licensed, that doesn’t necessarily mean Microsoft supports it. Vice versa (and I know this); I can get hardware validated, by Microsoft, for Windows 8 and WindowsPhone but it can still work differently with/without the necessary kernel-support.

/edit: sorry for the edit but I just noticed that http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/n-dvzvde/bsuqqx/products/644/images/1245/One_01__77601.1413571787.1280.1280.jpg?c=2 looks very different from the official lettering that comes with an official dev-kit. I cannot say for sure if Hori is telling the truth or if something else is going on.

It began to work for me for a while, but it went back. I’ll be testing things out and letting you all know what’s up. This so far has been an on going issue with Hori from what I’ve heard.
