No metallic colors?

Why aren’t metallic colors available anymore? I see theres metal flake but that doesn’t look like normal metallic paint and theres pearlescent/two tone colors. But it appears the only normal metallic colors are the manufacture colors of each car.

Look at the bottom right of your screen when you are on certain special colours, it gives you the option to change the colour

It doesn’t really look the same and takes a lot of tweaking so it doesn’t look over the top. But the option was there before it doesn’t make much sense to take it away.

Theyre not “metallic”, it’s a colour called “semi-gloss two-tone” under “special colours”.

Press X and Y to adjust the hues.

Yeah I’d like to have these back. Matte as well. I mean it’s not a big deal, but surely it isn’t a big deal to add it either.

Matte, metallic and more are all there, plus now yheres new ones too

Right but your not listening, the way you could choose them was better in 4 and you could tweak it there too. We are aware it’s still an option. I mean they figured it was a good idea in 4, everybody cheered, and then they dropped it. If I had choice I would choose the system they used in 4 because it was quicker and easier.

Yes I am listening, in th op you stated that they had dropped the metallic and matte paints, which ismt true, theres still the option if you look for it to get all the same metallic paints (or matte) as was in 4.

What you have since changed you mind to say is that there isnt the base metallic swatch picker that was in 4, your right that has gone. If you want it back then feel free to post in the feature wishlist.

Personally I hope they dont bring back the swatch picker because I prefer the extra options you get now and amyone worth their salt in 4 wouldnt have picked a base swatch colour, unless it was maybe white or black.

I’m not the op. And in 4 you could fine tune as well, the swatch picker just made it quicker for things like wheels etc, and it’s easier to match. Also when you would fine tune in 4 it would also save to the last color you picked which made things easier.

Ok, your not the OP …but how about your Original Post, “Yeah I’d like to have these back. Matte as well. I mean it’s not a big deal, but surely it isn’t a big deal to add it either.”

Seems a bit pointless adding something thats already there, if accessed a slightly different way.

and these werent done with any trickery as demonstrated in the previous post, I prefer the second 2 aluminium metallic colours as the others are just a touch too shiny for me.

That doesn’t look like a pure metallic paintjob as the OP was was referring to. That’s more like half matte, half metallic. Proper metallic colors still have that gloss from certain angles and as you zoom in, you will see the individual “glittery” effect that we also refer to as the orange peel effect. Don’t know why T10 would minus the option of selecting metallic colors of different hues right after normal colors, as was the case in Forza 3, 4 and 5.

Because it was more convenient? Are options pointless? Is ease of use not worth doing? I’m aware that it can still be done, and I explained exactly why it was better. I mean they obviously saw the benifit as well since they did it. Before they had a better system that was quicker and had the ability to fine tune, and it would remember what you picked, so every time I picked matte it wasn’t red, etc.

As I said it’s not a big deal, but arguing having the options we have had in the past, (released with great fanfare as I recall) are pointless is kinda weird.

If you’d pay attention to the menus you’d realize all the paints you’re asking for already exist…

Try using Metal Flake. Heck, it’s in the name after all.

" I see theres metal flake"

Heck it’s in the op after all.

Insert Brain Frt Here*

Just had a dull moment. Didn’t read the op completely.

Although, there is a paint trick that came from FM5 that may be useful.

It allows you to tint/fine tune the colour on materials that you aren’t allowed to tint.

I did this to my Fairlady Z today, with Carbon Kevlar. I made it blue.

That’s interesting I’ll have to check but in fh2 I have a f40 with green Kevlar I don’t remember having to do a trick to do it there. Can you import designs from fh2?

It wasn’t do-able in Horizon 2. Only for Forza 5 and now Forza 6.

If you’d like, I can make a step by step tutorial on how to do it.

That’s weird I definitely have a green carbon car (looks amazing with orange matte wheels.) And I don’t know any tricks. I suppose I accidentally triggered it then.

Probably the wrong topic but I noticed there is a bug with the Ford gt (maybe not a bug?) where the interior trim color changes to whatever the mirrors are set to.

You can also change the tint of aluminum, aluminum semi-gloss, and aluminum brushed. Looks awesome too.
