I would really love to see a Physical Ultimate Edition, i want this Edition so bad but i just dont want to have a physical copy
Im hoping there will be a physical version of the game aswell mainly as I dislike using the marketplace for ordering due to lack of trust for card payments and I normally have to pay more on the store and when using the gift cards plus its always satisfying about having the box and seeing your collection of games on a shelf
hopefully a physical limited edition will be announced soon
I fully anticipate a 10th Anniversary hard copy edition to be announced over the summer.
They didn’t do this for Forza Horizon 2 so I doubt they will for Forza 6. They made it pretty clear they weren’t going to be doing any special “limited edition” versions on disc anymore. It’s to expensive to produce two physical discs and distribute them. This way they save costs by making just one disc version and anyone who buys it can get VIP, Season Pass etc. from the online store.
For the record, initial releases of Forza titles have never been printed with more than one version of a disk, apart from PAL and NTSC requirements. Limited editions have always featured the base disk with a code inserted into the packaging for the user to redeem. That is to say, limited edition copies never had a unique, limited edition disk, per se. As for Horizon 2, the Day One edition was still offered in the absence of a limited edition. Now, Forza Motorsport is celebrating 10 years and, as I’ve stated, I fully expect a limited 10th Anniversary hard copy edition to be revealed. For such an occasion, fans like myself will pay a pretty penny for a special release. Hell, I even purchased the Forza Motorsport 5 Paddock Edition … a package that didn’t even include a copy of the game.
Also, you’re theory doesn’t fully hold up; hard copies will still be printed and sold (you can already pre-order at Gamestop, Best Buy, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store). Adding extras for the sake of a limited run is just a matter upselling consumers at a price point that will yield a profit. Additionally, a few of the Forza surveys I have participated in over the past year indicate special editions with tangible rewards are still being considered by Microsoft Studios. Furthermore, it isn’t that producing disk copies is “expensive” … it’s that consumers are oddly willing to pay an equal amount for digital copies of videogames - a trend that deserves pushback.
So long as I can get a physical product in conjunction with my purchase, I will opt to do so. Lastly, waiting for a potential limited edition announcement will do no harm. I can hold off until September 14th to purchase a digital copy if my hopes for a special hard copy are dashed.
I agree with most of what has been said. The pre-order cars aren’t a big deal as they are tuned cars with custom liveries which I recall could care less about.same with the 10 year anniversary pack. The same “stock” vehicle is already in the game. I have always purchased the collectors edition on disc in the past and would if they did that again. I’ve pre-ordered the regular disc version and will just buy VIP and Season Pass online. I’m assuming that VIP will be available immediately as it was for FH2. I don’t care for the Fast & Furious car pack for Forza 6 (in my opinion this has no place in a proper racing simulator) so I’ll just buy whatever DLC I want outside of the Seasons Pass and VIP.
I could deal with getting a digital copy of the game, but prices have certainly been rising not falling as you’d expect. I also like to trade in games I don’t play anymore and I don’t think you can do that with digital copies (please let me know if I am wrong).
if that the case then I will end up getting the digital edition then especially since I read up that digital pre orders will grant the duracell, alpine stars and pre order pack for free in horizon which ive yet to try out
I buy the Super LCE Forza’s when I can… However, if you are a super-huge Forza fan wouldn’t you buy the DLC Preorder bonus cars off Ebay before the next year when your friends move on…? I think, that the Unicorn Cars were an amazing thing in Forza, Because it gave everyone something to work for even 3 years after the initial release of the game, taking them out has made Forza die alittle more alittle sooner. However, whats really killing Forza and what they should stop is the Loyalty rewards…
What is the point of racing in career mode if I start the game with $25 Million CR? There is no point, I can do everything without racing once. I say bring back Unicorns, keep doing Pre-order bonuses and if someone wants the car that Amazon sold either Preorder from Amazon or buy it off Ebay. Step your game up.
Tired of seeing posts like these, 3 months before the game comes out especially.

No, I would never give a penny to untrustworthy code hoarders looking to make a buck from a digital car. As a “super-huge” Forza fan, I wait until pre-order bonus cars are offered as a pack … as they always are.
I think this thread is an example of people making too many assumptions on both sides of the topic of discussion.
Turn 10 have said nothing about physical copies. They have not said there won’t be any and have not announced any anniversary editions.
I sincerely doubt they will go fully digital bit to predict what physical editions they might put out is dangerous.
I would wait and see what they actually announce before complaining about anything and would not predict what versions they might come up with.

Hello, pot. Also, we know Forza Motorsport 6 isn’t going full digital. Pre-orders for hard copies are officially offered.

I would wait and see what they actually announce before complaining about anything and would not predict what versions they might come up with.
It’s a discussion forum and the conversation of what different hard copy versions will be offered is a typical topic, title after title. Furthermore, with less than three months now till the game’s debut, I think we are fine to speculate and debate what might come, as it relates to a special hard copy.
And, damn it, you can’t curtail my anticipation and hopefullness SatNiteEduardo! Heh.

I can’t argue with this, because I agree. Ultimately though, I already made up my mind on wich version I will be buying. I’ll be going digital, simply because having to put the disk in the system, stinketh.
Now if they could mail me the pack-ins, that would be awesome.
LOL
My comment was general. The OP is talking as if there will be no physical copies at all. I did not predict an anniversary edition. I made a general statement about physical v digital.
You have made a couple of posts in a couple of threads that are quite specific and that risks creating false expectations.

Hook me up with a PM as to which posts are “quite specific” so I can redact any misleading commentary; because, from my perspective, all of my opinions are formulated with a definitive “I expect …”, “I believe …”, or “I think …” Those which do not, I can back up with proof.
First off in my second sentence I stated my post may be premature because I do realize there is the possibility for a limited or collector’s edition to be announced beside the standard edition currently offered. The game does go on sale in three months though. I would think Turn10 knows if there will be an ultimate package available for physical media purchasers or some type of LCE.
I do own every limited or collector’s edition for each Forza. Thus, I was not looking for a specific Limited edition disk but, the limited or collector’s edition hard copy package with download codes and other goodies. I don’t know how the notion of a special disc was surmised from what I typed. I am however, looking for the ultimate edition to actually be ultimate and be offered to the purchasers of physical media. By this I mean having the dlc codes for all available content Turn10 has poured their passion into creating regardless of how insignificant one may think the liveries or custom tunings are at time of releasing the game.
@gmt360ss
Why spend an additional five to whatever price per car for preorder bonuses on eBay if Turn10 could grant a consumer access for it for spending $79.99(past limited pricing) or $99.99(ultimate pricing) on their IP? The mention of racing in career mode with physical media was mentioned in reference to being able to play if Xbox Live was down and unavailable for download of the game. Starting with $25million does not automatically grant you trophies in career mode. Some people do play offline as well as online. Is the expectation to hear about both physical and digital media options at the same time unrealistic? It is a discussion forum where individuals can express an opinion albeit with some rules and restrictions.
@SatNiteEduardo
I did not say there would be no anniversary, limited, or collector’s edition. I am simply saying where is the announcement for physical media (no love for…) along with the announcement of these digital editions. We know there is already a standard edition available for preorder. I know I didn’t predict any physical versions for the game. I did however ask where are the options for purchasers of physical media.
I want my physical collectors edition, digital “super editions” are just crap ,plus they are not less expensive. I dislike digital distribution on consoles with all my heart because we, the consumer dont recieve any real benefit, compare to steam or Gog.com and you will see little value compared to those.
Also Im a colletor and I have all the special editions of Forza, including the first.

Holy smokes; up outta nowhere Paladin shows up! Welcome back and I agree with your hard copy collector’s edition sentiments completely!
For FH2 you could “top up” your physical copy to the ultimate edition by buying the necessary dlc passes, vip etc
What would be good would be digital upgrade packages if you bought a physical copy so you dont have to handpick vip , car pass etc
I usually go physical but given my bluray drive is dying again I may go digital and hope my Dan Greenawalt bobblehead arrives I the post
I would seriously hope they offer a physical version of the top tier version of the game, I do not want to go full digital… even if it doesn’t come with anything other than a fancy steelbook case, I would welcome a physical DISC version of the game. Yes I am stubborn, yes I am stuck in my old gaming ways, and no, I won’t change so there.
